So you want to manifest better health or more money and you follow step by step instructions described in some law of attraction source.
You meditate on your health, you visualize cash in your hands, you do affirmations and whatever you think will work to attract your love.
After some time you look around and notice that not much has been changed – same old crap around, just like before.
Sounds oh so familiar?

Then you usually come to either one of three conclusions:

Drastic one: LOA does not exist and does not work and it’s all scam.
(you move to other modalities to improve your screwy conditions but LOA is now a 4-letter word in your dictionary)

That Law of Attraction book you been following is giving totally misleading information.
(you decide that given author does not have a clue or credentials and search for another author).

Most probable case: That Law of Attraction book sounds ok but likely missing some “real secret” key.
(you find source that includes “the real secret”, “the missing key”, or alike in it’s title, and with the new wave of inspiration start practicing again)

Law of Attraction in it’s nature is so simple that most publications, even the ones including “the missing secret” and “the real key” appear to be regurgitating the same old stuff in a slightly different font and color.

So why is it so hard to attract what we want?

Because we do not attract stuff by our desire to get more stuff and we do not attract stuff by doing some proper law of attraction exercises.

But exercises and structured approach fits western and european school of thinking really well. People like certainty and mechanical predictability of their actions:

I am willing to do dedicated exercises 15 minutes per exercise, 3 times a day and in two weeks I expect to see the tangible results or consider the whole thing a failure!

Western mentality also sprinkles “working hard” statements to above.

“Working hard” is so ingrained into the hearts and minds of north american people that when “working hard” fails as usual to deliver any results to speak of people conclude that they just need to “work even harder”. “Hard workers” are usually the ones who manifest the most “hardness” but least prosperity.

So, lets get to the root cause of manifestations, any manifestations.

We attract “stuff” by being in “the manifested state”.

Please note that anything above and below this statement is just a commentary – this statement is the only thing you need to know and do about The Law of Attraction to live happily ever after.

Lets repeat it again in a slight variation:

We attract anything we want by being in the desired manifested state.

Manifested state – is an inner emotional state we would experience having our desire already manifested for us.

Welcome to the ultimate catch 22 of the law of attraction:
We want stuff because once we’ll get it – we will feel happy.
But to get stuff that will make us happy we absolutely have to be into the happy emotional state first.

Try to attract more money visualizing cash while feeling miserable and fearful of piled up bills to pay.

So it does not matter if you do or not do any law of attraction or manifestation exercises – as long as you manage to enter and stay in the desired manifested state as much as possible. Exercises are just a little crutches that helps you to enter the state and get the feel of it.

Don’t buy into illusion that doing will get you where you want to be. It’s the Being that will. You have to BE first and then DO what you feel inspired for.
Doing exercises for 1 hour a day is wonderful but spending the other 23 hours being pissed off at the quality of your current life situation will attract you that which matches your dominant vibration – the state you feel most often.

Being in The Manifested State is the secret sauce of manifestation. The practice is to learn to enter and to stay in the manifested state as much as possible. Not just 1 hour a day at predefined times, but as often as possible.
Your imagination and your thoughts are firewood that will keep the manifested state fire burning. This is your work if you want to change your life situation. This needs to become your new thinking and feeling habit to overcome old destructive patterns and make material world to reflect the new reality to you.

My personal preference is to practice the manifested state throughout the day – whenever possible. My clients are guided to do that as often as possible and to discover their own personal ways to achieve desired emotional states.

Here is an example of the process I do to heal myself from temporary undesirable physical states – such as headaches, muscle or joint pains or even teeth pains.

Recently I had an uncomfortable headache from undersleeping and overworking on a computer. Headache disappeared within minutes after the manifested state practice.

Yesterday I felt strong teeth pain after eating some overly sweet food. Disappeared within 1 hour of the manifested state practice.

Today I had a strong elbow joints pain caused by previous arm wrestling with my son, his friend and our house guests. Disappeared 4 hours after beginning of intermittent practice of the manifested state.

Here is the example of The Manifested State practice I use, step by step:

I observe and acknowledge what is that I don’t like:
- headache, muscle pain, etc..

I define what is that I want to get or to achieve:
- feeling of good energy.
- feeling rested.
- feeling positive.
- feeling happy.

I set my external physicals to match the desired state:
- I set myself into straight posture.
- I made few conscious breathes.
- I flexed a few muscles to become conscious of my body.

I work on moving my emotions toward matching the desired state. This is the hardest, yet most important part:
- I imagined how feeling rested “feels” and reignited that emotional state inside of me to some extent.
- I imagined how feeling “good energy” feels – easy – energetic – inspired and reignited that inner feeling.
- I imagined how feeling positive feels – smiley – ready to take off – easy to fix things – and reignited that inner feelings and flexed some muscles to acknowledge my ability to easily move without problem
- I imagined general happiness – no need to rush anywhere – no obligations to fulfill to anyone – joy – peace – reignited these feelings inside and used imagination to to see me moving, smiling, feeling good.
- Imagined what i would do in the desired state – have joyful physical exercise, easily take care of some clutter, do some writing on subjects i feel inspired about.

Once I reignited the bouquet of inner feelings matching my desired state – I worked on maintaining it. This is practice of “throwing logs” into the “positive emotional fire” to keep it going. One feeling “log” to remind of “good energy”, another emotional “log” to maintain feelings of inspiration, yet another log to feel lightness, joy and ease. Few more imagery exercises seeing me in desired action, enjoying my new state.
This process requires consistency and focusing. But it can be done at any time, while driving, while talking, while resting.
And the best part of it is rediscovering your inner power – the ability to ignite positive feelings and emotions within yourself at will.

This skill will eventually make you independent of any outer circumstances, will help you to become a free person and manifest anything you want in your life.

When I try to enter the manifested state from initial physical discomfort – this usually requires some sort of inner energy jolt – sort of kicking myself in the butt to shift to the new energy state.
This step requires will power, effort and strong focusing.

You have to be willing to go through initial discomfort of switching your inner energy state.
Such discomfort is sensually similar to overcoming desire to sleep in the morning and deciding to physically move out of warm and cozy bed.

Even though the manifested state work is mostly just inner emotional work – it could be quite challenging at the beginning.
The reward for that is quick and noticeable improvement!
And the best part – it could work for everything.

The process manifesting more money, finding lovemate or achieving more success in your life is very similar to the process of overcoming headache!

To summarize the steps:
Decide what is that you want, describe the matching state – and start working on igniting your inner emotional feelings, powered by matching thoughts. Start easy and slow.

When you notice that your emotions start shifting toward more positive – you will know that your practice is successful. Keep doing it, make it your daily habit moment to moment.

Remember when your emotions match the desired manifested state regardless of your current physical circumstances – IT IS THE PROOF OF YOUR SUCCESSFUL MANIFESTATION WORK.
When you are in The Manifested State – physical “stuff” is on the way – This is The Law.

PS: I had to finish this article by manifesting 2 empty tables for myself in absolutely packed StarBucks coffee place with no places to sit. Invoking The Manifested State does it’s magic every time :)

Would you like to be able to heal other people, your loved ones and even yourself just with the power of your own mind?
It is possible, and it all depends on your desire, passion and inspiration.

I personally experienced what others would name “miraculous healings” from the hands of an energy healer after being told by one of the brightest chiropractic authority in California that my case is helpless. Our own babysitter in one free healing session corrected what $5,000 of fees paid to well-recognized medical professional couldn’t.

That experience fascinated me to the extent that i studied and read multiple books that somehow touched the subject of healing. Afterwards, with some practice I was able to heal myself numerous times from smaller scale ailments including the ones that were quite annoying and incurable for 20+ years using all possible conventional means. In a casual manner I helped other people as well.

While studying the subject of healing i began finding a strong correlation between techniques and approaches mentioned in multiple sources. I think The Teachings of Abraham gave the best introduction and specific, practical summaries on this exciting subject.

So lets get to the essence of it all and begin with the definition of an inner emotional state named “The Vortex”.

The Vortex is a key concept in The Teachings of Abraham and it represents an inner emotional state of a person who is connected with universal energy.
Your inner emotional state is your indicator of alignment with who you really are – with the higher energy, the larger non-physical part of you, the God if you will.
Without this alignment the life is a struggle and a reflection of some dis-ease.
With this alignment in place – the energy flows freely and your healing and manifesting abilities are available to you.

As Abraham defined The Vortex:

The Vortex is an emotional state. It is an emotional state of beingness.
– The Teachings of Abraham

Your real life experiences mimics your emotional experiences, your dominant emotional state.

In order to manifest your desires including your ability to heal others you need to get in- and to be in The Vortex state first. Then everything comes to you almost effortlessly and quick.
Being in the vortex means an absence of resistance. As it’s only your own resistance that holds you from achieving your dreams.

How do we know when we are in the Vortex, what kind of feelings are associated with being in the Vortex?
The Vortex is associated with the feelings of Worthiness, Confidence, Completeness, Certainty, Stability, Elation, Passion, Appreciation, Freedom.
Presence of any one or more of these feelings in your current state indicates that your current state is either in or very close to being in the Vortex, and you are connected to Who You Really Are.

How do you get in the Vortex state?
If you are not in the current state of appreciation you will need to make a consistent, focused, dedicated effort to lift your emotions up, toward positive until you reach the state of general appreciation.
There are two ways to go about it, passive: meditation and active: by actually practicing appreciation thoughts.
Meditation is a good tool to quiet the mind and quieting the mind would mean releasing the resistant thoughts. Once resistant thoughts are gone – you automatically move toward the state of appreciation.

Alternatively you may take proactive approach in achieving The Vortex state. It will involve an inner work to change your current non-appreciative attitude toward current events and conditions of your life to more positively felt attitude.
If something causes you to feel irritation – begin with changing your attitude, your thoughts toward it to more general, less specific, less negative thoughts.
From “I hate when he lies to me”, to:
“I think i lied to others myself on a few occasions as well and I can sort of understand a bit more why others do it.”.
Feel the difference?
From “My boss is annoying and my work is crappy” to:
“The boss is doing his best to arrange things so the business will succeed and if I’d be on his place I likely would start look at things very differently. My current job is not my ultimate dream job, but it helps me to take care of things that otherwise would be more challenging. Nothing prevents me from learning to be more and more positive and to be on a lookout for more opportunities.”
Feel the difference?

That is the process of changing attitude toward any subject that just a minute ago felt sharply negative.
That’s a general idea of self-talk you want to use to steer yourself toward in order to release present resistance.
By guiding your thoughts – you soften resistance, and move yourself toward more positive emotional feedback.

You talk yourself into and you feel yourself into more and more positive emotional state. You do it until you can feel growing inner feelings of appreciation toward more and more things and beings that surrounds you.

Ultimately you want to reach the general state of being in appreciation – you want to be in the state of appreciation toward most objects and events that are active in and around your current life.
That is the only, and necessary precondition to be a successful healer.

The feelings of appreciation and the feeling of unconditional love are vibrationally very close to each other.
The more you appreciate the more Jesus-like healing powers are available for you.

From this emotional state of appreciation everything becomes possible for you. And that includes your ability to manifest desires into physical form as well as to heal others – people and even animals, and accomplish all that without others knowing that you are doing that.

Your first and most important task on the journey of being a healer is to achieve an emotional state of bliss – The Vortex, regardless of what is going on around you.
It is from that state you will be able to facilitate the healing process.

Once you’re in the vortex, you hold the person you want to heal as your object of attention and see this person “with the eyes of source”.
In other words – you see them as perfectly healthy, happy, full of inspiration and energy. Specifics does not matter although your vision will be matching the state the person would be in if they’d be completely healthy. This applies in the same way to yourself as well.
Please note that this is not the process where you connect to some sort of wellness “hose” and then shower others with the “wellness stream” from it.

The healing of OTHERS is the process of YOU getting in vibrational sync with the universal energy of well-being FIRST and ONLY THEN, from within this state holding another person as your object of attention.

When you do it – you do not see the illness – you see the wellness. You see this person through the eyes of source – and through the eyes of source you can only see wellness. You see and feel how you and another person would be in the perfectly healthy way.
You don’t push, you do not enforce or try to “inflict” wellness to other. You align yourself with universal energy first and only than, from that state, your power to heal will be available to anyone who becomes your object of attention in a loving way.
If you need to communicate with ill person, don’t speak to them as if they are not well. Maintain your vision of well-being for them. This vision is “in the vortex” version of them.
When you keep the person as your object of attention while you are staying in the vortex – the resistance dissolves and well-being flows continuously.

The healing process is aligning with the energy of well-being, and that alignment we may call love, this is an alignment with the pure non resistance energy. And from that state when you hold someone as your object of attention you make it easier for them to tap into that energy, just because you have it, that is what healers of all times has discovered.

This process takes practice, focus and discipline. You have to “not see” the illness.
Just like you can easily envision clean hands under the dirt just before you wash them – you see the well-being of the person as you look at the person and hold that person as your object of attention.

I repeat the basic concepts multiple times here and I do it on purpose. That is to deliver the essence of the art of healing to make sure you see how your inner emotional state gets you connected to the universal well-being.

You cannot focus on other’s illness and assist them with wellness. You cant let them to talk you out of the vortex into their concerns. Speak to ill person in more general terms to convey the healing concepts but do not address specifics of how this process works if person is not ready.

At the end it is not what you say – it is how you feel is important.

Sometimes you have to fight for that general feeling inside you as others wants to talk about negative specifics of their state. Be oblivious to their illness, do not make that resistance energy be active in your vibration.

That is how Jesus healed – he did not allow himself to see your illness, instead her only knew your wellness.

For many people these concepts are incomprehensible.
Hence – do not insist it upon others or try to convey understanding of it. Many people believe that only physical intervention will allow them to get better. And it is ok.
In this case it might be helpful to combine gentle, soothing touch in combination with clear focusing on your inner alignment. People will likely expect more results from touching than from the power of your mind. Soothe them and use your mind in the way described.

No matter what the condition, you are going to focus on wellness. And when you hook in to what is in their vortex even if they are not hooked in to it – they can tell that you are. The larger part of them know what you know. And when the larger part of them know what you know – and you expressing that – you got instant trust.
– Abraham, The Words to the Healer

Here I will address one of the most frequently asked question about affirmations and the law of attraction.
But instead of feeding you the theory of affirmations creation (like make them positive and make them in the present moment, etc…) I will do my best to show you the foundation of affirmations and why they work for some and does not work for others.

Affirmations are an important tool in any personal development and manifestation work toolbox. There are many wonderful books and teachings where affirmations are used as a main approach to manifest desires, accomplish goals, and achieve more healthier states of the body. Affirmations usually works pretty good to supplement dedicated meditation practices or when used as a regular daily mantra (with some cautions).
I been introduced to my first steps with affirmations via books by Shakti Gawain and Joseph Murphy (“The Power of Your Subconscious Mind”). Books of Joseph Murphy are fun to read as they present many examples of manifested intentions based almost exclusively on affirmations people used.

Yet, in my mastering the law of attraction article – I haven’t describe a single technique that is based on affirmations.

Why is that?
Large part of above article is dedicated to introduction of the concept of “State” or “Desired State”. The work of entering the desired emotional state should be the last step in any successful Law of Attraction work. Once you manage to make progress in shifting your emotions toward desired positive outcome – the task is to maintain this state as consistently as possible.
In the absence of (or at least with reduced) resistance – feeling yourself in the desired state as if your desire already achieved will cause significant progress in material manifestation of desire. Specifics of manifested intention will match closely the inner emotional energy of your most dominant emotional state.

Resistance, or resistant thoughts are the most significant barrier in making your dreams come true! Anything you can do to remove resistance will greatly help you to move toward the life of your dreams and sometimes that’s the only step required!
So where does affirmations comes in play here?
After all there are countless success stories where people used affirmations with amazing results.
The answer is – affirmations are one of the best tools to distract mind from resistant thoughts plus they also help you to steer your inner state toward the desired feeling state.
But very important part to understand here is that words does not work by themselves. It is YOU who has to do inner work.
Let me get a bit controversial here and present a little case against affirmations, but please do not get any sense of negativity, there are none at all. I personally use affirmations daily.
Consider this information as a map that warns your about number of “underwater rocks” that very little number of other sources would tell you about. So after hearing so much about the goodness of affirmations let us have the full picture.

When people do not make any personal progress with their affirmation based work – they attribute it to insufficient frequency, intensity or short duration of their practices.
But for some people affirmations are much less effective than they realize. Under the guidance of a good book – people could craft beautiful “properly constructed” affirmations and then use them with great dedication and passion without paying much attention to their inner emotional state from moment to moment.
The trick here is being played by our own minds. “Noisy” minds are especially vulnerable.
Here’s what happens:
When person start repeating affirmations, the body relaxes and soft shift toward positive emotional state somewhat achieved.
This effect is akin to taking a warm bath. And here’s where the danger lies. In relaxed, relatively positive state – the conscious mind delegates repetition of affirmations to inner “autopilot” and quickly gets back to regular, often negative thinking patterns. It feels like multitasking and it is – you can repeat positive affirmations without mistakes at your chosen pace, yet at the same time think any kind of thoughts, including the ones not compatible with affirmation subject. The benefit from this practice is only as good as from any physical relaxation time, but it has close to zero effect in bringing you closer to manifestation of your desires.
To overcome this requires solid focusing and extra mindfullness. When thought arises – you let it go and focus on inner emotional work empowered by nice affirmations. Yet it is easier say then done.
Monotone affirmations works like a lullaby – bringing you back to that “warm bath” effect where losing your focus gets oh so easy again.
For lazy, noisy minds it is easy to lose focus especially under the cuddly cover of positive affirmations. Hence I do not use affirmations as a primary tool for my clients. All my work is focused toward awakening, strengthening and maintaining the light of inner consciousness, releasing resistance and learning to manage emotions at will regardless of external situations and conditions.
In this aspect the affirmations as a “tool” can be skipped completely and person’s attention is focused directly on source of his or her innermost manifestation power – inner emotional state.

Having said that – affirmations works really well for more quiet, positive and focused minds, but then everything else usually works really well for these people anyways :)

I found perfect and balanced application for affirmations that becomes perfectly suitable for any mind.
I use affirmations as initial spark for emotional work. When desired – I start with affirmations to ignite positive emotions and then continue on working to maintain and strengthen desired emotional energy without any extra mantras or affirmations.

This approach ignites inner energy on a feelings level and then yields to mindful focusing to strengthen and maintain the desired emotional state.

Use affirmations as a spark, not as a crutch.
This way you will have much lesser chance to lose yourself in mindless repetitions and be able to sharpen and strengthen the light of your consciousness, improve focusing and ability to manage and maintain your inner positive emotional state.

Remember – it is not the words, it is your inner emotional state that allows for matching physical manifestations.

The term Law of Attraction first originated in 1906 when author and publisher William Walker Atkinson released his new thought movement book: “Thought Vibration or the Law of Attraction in the Thought World” (Chicago, 1906). He also was brave enough to use the term “vibration” (scary enough word for any other author to use or understand back then). His work introduced the concepts of thought, energy, vibration and manifestation in a very thorough and detailed manner. He also was the first to explain the importance and power of Love to manifest desires (sometimes in rather humorous manner: “…so love but one thing at a time – don’t be a mental Mormon”).

Wallace Delois Wattles

In 1910 Wallace Delois Wattles published his famous book “The Science of Getting Rich”. Wallace D. Wattles expained the creative role of thought in the manifestation process and further elaborated over the universal role of energy as “stuff from which all things are made”. Wallace D. Wattles was the first to dedicate a sole chapter to the concept of Gratitude as a tool to support practitioner’s manifestation work. As he explained: “ the riches they receive will be in exact proportion to the definiteness of their vision, the fixity of their purpose, the steadiness of their faith, and the depth of their gratitude.”

Wattle D Wallace’ work preceded another popular work by Napoleon Hill “Think and Grow Rich”

Napoleon Hill

In 1928 Napoleon Hill published his work “The Law of Success in 16 Lessons” which used the term Law of Attraction very frequently. The most famous work of Napoleon Hill is “Think and Grow Rich” book was first published in 1937 and later to become one of the world’s best selling book. “Think and Grow Rich” work was surrounded by a number of mysteries, such as promise of Napoleon Hill to disclose “real secret” to success which never was actually disclosed leading to miscellaneous speculations. Another interesting development on this subject was the channeled message from Abraham (The Teachings of Abraham, channeled by Ester Hicks) where the non-physical presence of Napoleon Hill disclosed that the word “vibration” had to be taken from the early publications of his book due to publisher’s fear that such term won’t be accepted, would prevent sales and was outright scary for most readers at the time.

The Secret Movie

Fast forward to 2006 when talented movie The Secret was taking over the world by storm and propelling The Law of Attraction to become a household discussion subject for tens of millions people worldwide. Rhonda Byrne shared that “The Science of Getting Rich” book by Wallace Wattles served as her inspiration for the film. The movie was sequenced as a series of interviews given by well-known authors, inspirations speakers, teachers and “visionaries” (although I found the term “visionary” a bit funny. What do you do for living? ‘I am visionary. And you?’).

The messages delivered by The Secret are loud and clear: Thoughts Create Things, and Positive Emotional Attitudes are helpful and necessary to manifest desires. Although the movie implies that those in position of power are hiding The Secret from masses, I found that masses “in poverty and not in power” are just not that interested in this subject to begin with.

Esther and Jerry Hicks

One of the most significant sources of inspirational and informative materials on the subject of Law of Attraction are the works of Jerry and Esther Hicks. In 1986 Esther Hicks began channeling the messages from the group of non-physical beings that were given a name “Abraham”. While this experience was initially very shocking for Esther – the process attracted lots of interest from Jerry and soon, with Jerry’s support, Esther and Jerry began giving channeling workshops to ever growing groups of people. These works are summarized as “The Teachings of Abraham” and up until the present day (even after Jerry Hicks passed away in 2011) Esther continues to give the workshops and seminars where she channels the Abraham’s answers to any questions people are asking.

I was introduced to The Teachings of Abraham through “Ask and It Is Given” and some other books and the enlightenment quality and consistency of the message was very clear to me. I consider The Teachings of Abraham to be one the most helpful and practical guiding messages on the subject on manifestation of desires and The Law of Attraction.

The Concepts

After reading and practicing The Law of Attraction concepts for more that 15 years I can share the real secret as well as a number of the “missing secrets”, right here and without charging for it. I can authoritatively admit that while the Law of Attraction concepts are simple -

THE IS NO SINGLE PUBLICATION, BOOK OR MOVIE THAT LISTS ALL THESE CONCEPTS IN ONE PLACE OR
IN THE RIGHT ORDER.

Thoughts indeed create things and positive thinking is indeed necessary for manifestation of desires – although by themselves they are not enough.

The Secret movie spawned a number of opinions and reviews, both positive and negative. The flurry of negative opinions could be divided mostly in two parts:

First: What about innocent children, victims and mass disasters (did these people attract the perils?). The answer to this question deserves a separate (to follow) article, although I think Abraham delivered the best answers on these type of questions.

Second:
- I tried LOA and it didn’t work for me.
- I visualize, visualize, positively think and think, but where is my stuff?

#2 is directly related to the art of manifestation and for that reason I am going to elaborate on it in greater details.

Everything in our universe is energy – everything you see, feel, hear or otherwise perceive. Everything within and beyond our perceptions is energy as well. Everything. Energy always moves. The fact that you can see, hear or smell – means that energy moves and you are capable of tuning into it’s vibrational frequency.
Energy cannot stop and cannot disappear. It can only change it’s form. Energy always flows.
Our thoughts are energy. What we now see, feel and touch has only existed in the form of thought just a little while ago. As soon as you conceive and entertain a thought – any thought – it immediately flows into the endless universe and attracts like thoughts. They in turn attract material manifestations of the similar energies. Miserable thought manifest more misery, abundant thoughts adds more abundance to the creator of it and to the world around.

That which is like unto itself is drawn – is the major premise of the Law of Attraction. Like attracts like – and the only way to manifest new and improved version of the outer world is to change the vision within your inner world – your inner vibrations – your inner thoughts and, as a consequence – your inner emotional state.
So how would we go about manifesting the things we want? More abundance? More money? More creative energy our your lives? Your dream job or dream body condition or your dream soulmate or partner?
I found that simple car analogy works the best to explain not only the process itself but also the proper order of actions.

Here it goes:
Imagine you want to take your car and drive to your vacation destination. Some exciting place where you never been before.
So here’s what you’d want to do – and in this specific order:

Decide where you want to go and prepare the road map: Set Intention and Make Decision to start moving toward it.

Check your car – make sure it’s in good driving condition and there are no obstacles to movement: Get your mind ready for the trip.

Release the breaks: Let go of Resistance.

Keep driving according to your roadmap, never mind occasional stops or detours. Keep your destination in mind, keep driving and have fun along the way in expectation of arriving to the wonderful place where you never been before: Enter and Maintain the Desired State.

The Practice

I • Set Intention and Make Decision to start moving toward it.

This is very important, yet not a difficult step, but approach it with utmost respect and focusing. Let say you decided to achieve financial independence. You are making commitment to yourself to create a life of joy and freedom, a life of your own choosing. Not that you would like to try to maybe do something, but that you will do everything it takes to achieve that.
No matter whats your past or current situation – consider it a clean, fresh and exciting start. You’re about to start moving toward it just by making tiny, simple decision!
Feel free to feel as excited about it as if you just been told that the check is in the mail.
Very important part of this step – is to make your new intention to become the highest priority intention. Above and beyond anything else. This of course does not mean that you should stop attending your daily necessities but that VERY MUCH MEANS that before making meaningful choices in your daily active life – you’ll be ruthlessly asking yourself: will this help me to move toward my ultimate intention or will it distract me from that?
For example, before making a choice of food, activity or being focused on something that involve other people desires – keep asking yourself this question and making CONSCIOUS CHOICE, not default one driven by past habits. Of course if boss is asking you to attend the meeting – the choice is simple, but if during that meeting the boss decided to engage in worthless rhetorics – you could make a wiser choice to do some mental exercises that will help you to shift your state (see further) that matches your intention, not intention of your boss.
Some choices will be tough and driven by negative habits – like strong desire to take some junk food within a choice of healthy food or choosing to postpone to do some beneficial activity in favor of lengthy and worthless entertainment spree.
The important part here is not the choice you made, but your focused ability to ask yourself a conscious question and make a conscious choice, not losing yourself in robotic habitual reactions. Another important element here – is to align yourself with the choice taken REGARDLESS of actual choice. Whatever choice you’ll make – feel happy and not guilty about it, even if that choice was not the best available. If you absolutely feel the urge to take junk food lunch – do not feel guilty about it. Feel happy and enjoy it to the best of your ability. And then pat yourself in the back for three accomplished things:

You remembered to asked yourself a question before making a choice.

You answered this question.

You did your best to “align” yourself with your choice, likely enjoyed it, and did not feel that guilty regardless of the choice taken.

The work here is consistent and CONSCIOUS AWARENESS of your big intention and ABILITY TO BE MORE ALERT instead of “fast asleep” with your eyes opened.
Notice that very soon you’ll start making more of a different, more “toward your intention” choices, instead of the ones driven by past habits. Do not push yourself to perfection of making only the right choices and punishing yourself with guilt by taking the wrong choices, but strive toward alertness and consciousness in your daily decisions in the view of your ultimate intention.
Please note – that it is usually better to keep your ultimate intention and your practices to yourself. You do not need other people’s opinions and extra distractions on your way to manifestation of your dream.

Practice:

In your daily life, before making reasonably meaningful steps (buying, eating, connecting, responding, acting), and before making any bigger choices (job, connections, partnerships) ask yourself these questions and follow steps:

Will this help me to move toward my ultimate intention or will it distract me from that?

Are there better choices available?

Answer these questions.

Make a choice.

Align yourself with the choice taken: do your best to ignite positive feelings regarding your choice.

Congratulate yourself for being conscious, and making positive effort to align yourself with the choice taken.

II • Get your mind ready for the trip.

This is a test (car condition check): stand in front of the mirror, look at yourself, your face. Now look close, right into your eyes and say: “I Love You …(your name)”.
How did it go? What did you feel?
Did you feel ease and inspiration? Or did you feel tension, stress or any negative feelings?
If that exercise didn’t flow easily and positively for you – or even worse (and more likely!) – you felt negative, depressed, angered, frustrated, disappointed, unwilling, resilient, etc. – you just found the most common cause for all personal miseries overlooked by pretty much most self improvement and personal development sources.
This is the LACK OF SELF LOVE.
If you’d ignore that fact and continue on with practices described in any other Law of Attraction source (meditation, visualization, imagination, feelings, etc…) – you’ll likely end up joining the army of people complaining that LOA does not exist or does not work. Without self-love – everything else will be manifested to match your non-loving inner state.
Lack of self-lack + visualization of money will bring you passed promotions at work, TV fragments showing other people winning lotteries and long lines at the bank for you to observe how others are happily depositing their lovely checks.
Lack of self-love + imagination of your ideal soulmate will manifest in a flurry connections with disrespectful and ignorant individuals. So that for the bad news.
The good news is that this inner glitch is easy to correct, although it will require persistence and regular maintenance exercise. This is not difficult, although like any other habit changing exercise, it will feel uncomfortable at first. Another piece of good news is that we do not need to delay main Law of Attraction practices as we can do them all together.
Self-love is not selfishness, ignorance or narcissism. It is your inherent sense of well-deserved self-worth, self-respect and self-confidence.
The exercise might not be easy especially if you had a life-long habit of being tough on yourself. Your subconscious mind on occasions will present you 100’s of excuses to skip it or avoid it – but be persistent!
Here we’re talking the power of Universe and, if you will, the Power of God working 100% on your side.

Practice:

Every morning and every night (good to do it after washing yourself) do these exercises:

Stand in front of the mirror and look at yourself, deep in your eyes.

While looking say out loud to yourself: “I Love you …(your name)”. Say it and do your best to feel love toward yourself. If love feelings are not coming or deeply negative emotions are surfacing – do your best to stay conscious, observe flowing emotional energy and letting it go. And then go back toward shifting your inner feelings onto the higher, more positive level. Strive for feelings of love.
Keep looking in your eyes and saying “I Love you …(your name)”. Pronouncing your name is important here. Keep steering your emotions toward approval, appreciation, gratitude, toward feelings of love.

Recall good things about yourself, things you did during the day and say to yourself:
“I Love how creative I was today” … “I love how easily I managed this part” … “I love ….. about myself”.
Keep feeling love and flow relevant thoughts easily, without pressure.
If no thoughts are coming just keep saying: “I Love you …(your name)” powered by feelings of love.

To complete this exercise look yourself deeply in your eyes and say the final time: “I Love you …(your name)” powered by feelings of love to the best of your abilities.

It is enough to this exercise for 5 minutes each time.
Bonus exercise: when you’ll have an opportunity during the day to look at yourself in the mirror (such as at traffic stops or in times visiting restroom for example) – do a few seconds of this exercise as well.

III • Let go of Resistance.

Resistance is one and the only reason most people are getting what they don’t want and not getting what they want in their lives. Absence of self-love that was taken care by the previous exercise is the biggest and fattest king of resistances of them all. So we dedicated a separate exercise to cultivating or rather re-awakening self love. With diligent practice this will automatically take care of multitude of problems as well.
What remains after that is inherited, often subconscious, automatic resistance to certain subjects such as money, health, events, subjects, people, etc.. This resistance will surface as sudden negative reaction felt on the emotional level. Resistance is caused by the resistant thoughts, such as “I am not good enough …”, “I won’t have enough money…”, “Someone else always gets what I deserve …”, “It’s unfair …” etc…
Resistance thoughts are essentially our inner energy blocks – they prevent energy flow.
There are two major ways to overcome resistance:

Passive: Stop and eliminate resistant thoughts: Meditation practices.

Active: Activate positive, allowing thoughts: The DreamCatcher’s Altitude Practice.

Passive approach: meditation:
Our universe is very cooperative and when you stop or at least make your resistance thoughts diminish – this will automatically cause energy flow to increase and your well-being level will rise.
Both passive and active approach works equally well and personal preference depends more on personality of practitioner.
The general approach toward successful meditation practice is to comfortably relax and consciously follow some sort of repetitive mundane pattern, usually breathing and related body sensations in a passive observer manner. Repetition of mantras or quiet soothing music makes for easier meditation.
Regular meditation practice serves as a good supplementary tool to freshen your inner energy.

Active approach: Altitude Practice:
Active approach to eliminate resistance involves proactive, conscious changes in your attitude (thoughts) toward everything around you.
“Altitude” stands for Appreciation + Love Attitude. I collected the best gems from the most valuable and practical spiritual guides and Law of Attraction books and teachings and boiled them down into simple practice that can be easily followed during the day and greatly helps to eliminate inner resistance to well-being.

On a way to eliminate resistance Abraham (The Teachings of Abraham) prefers pure positive thoughts (energy of appreciation and love) to no-thoughts (meditation).
Wallace D Wattles in his monumental “The Science of Getting Rich” book says:

The whole process of mental adjustment and atonement can be summed up in one word, gratitude… if your gratitude is strong and constant, the reaction in Formless Substance will be strong and continuous; the movement of the things you want will be always toward you.

Abraham says:

Love and appreciation are identical vibrations. It’s a vibration of alignment with who you are. It’s an absence of resistance. It’s an absence of everything that feels bad and presence of everything that feels good. The state of appreciation is me being in sync with the whole of who i am…
The secret to life is this: look for something to appreciate and practice it until it becomes easy and you will live happily ever after…

One of the very important notes made by Abraham (that no other source mentioned) is the vibrational difference between Gratitude and Appreciation. While Appreciation and Love are identical vibrations, Gratitude and Appreciation are not. Gratitude more often present within us when we got or achieved something as a result of a quest or struggle or “active striving toward”. Hence Gratitude might contain “traces” of that previous resistance and struggle, while appreciation and real unconditional love does not. Gratitude has a character of sticking toward specific subjects, objects or conditions, while appreciation has a wonderful tendency to spill all over everything.
Gratitude might have a flavor of “because…” [weather is good, car is running, my body feels well], while Appreciation can be more “uncaused” and keep being present without logical reason. Yet Gratitude is a wonderful “bridging” vibration toward yet higher Appreciation and Love vibrations and it is a good sign that the ultimate vibration of appreciation and love are well within reach. Once you’re into appreciation mode – the is no resistance within you and all your desires and dreams are on the finish line toward you.

Letting go of resistance practice is essentially daily alertness, openness and willingness to find more and more things to appreciate. No matter how busy you are – every day present countless “idle” moments that are perfect to practice and polish your appreciation skills.

Practice:

DreamCatcher’s ALTITUDE Practice:
Lesson 1: Getting altitude. Recalling how appreciation feels like.
Pick one really lovely, easy-to-love person or easy-to-appreciate subject for you to think about. Better make it person (your child, loved one or any person who inspires you and is easy for you to appreciate). Alternatively choose anything else: your new shiny gadget or special place or any other object that makes you feel good about it. What’s important here is for you to recall and recognize the feelings of appreciation.
Shift attention inside and feel appreciation toward this person or object. Feel how it really feels inside you when you think about it. Sense the joy. Sense the growing energy inside you. Does it feel good to appreciate this person (or object)? Can you strengthen this feeling of appreciation, make it a little more intense? Just because you can? Imagine hugging, touching, feeling, holding, hearing, sensing it. Flex your other senses toward this person (object)! Can you feel your appreciation a little bit more? And a little bit more? Mentally utilizing other senses – will strengthen your feelings of appreciation and allow you to memorize and recall them easily later on.
Purpose here is to recall how appreciation feels and get ready to reignite the feeling of appreciation later on at will.
Note: you may substitute the word “appreciation” with the word “love” if that is easier for you, as vibrationally they are identical.

Lesson 2: Accelerating: Flexing your inner appreciation powers.
Pick one “neutral” or even “boring” object or person. That could be a distant salesperson in the local store you sometime visit. Or someone you saw around a few times but wouldn’t bother to communicate much with. Or something totally mundane like roadsign, or streetlight, or tree or pencil!
Can you look at or imagine this person or object and feel a bit more appreciation toward it? Think about such characteristics as helpfulness, usefulness, readiness, or design, color, shape. Anything that could help you trigger and then increase feelings of appreciation toward something that you absolutely wouldn’t bother to do it before.
Go back to Lesson 1, “grab a piece” of appreciation feelings, then return back to this step but carry this feeling toward this object.
Proceed in the same way – try to increase feeling of appreciation toward this object.
Repeat Lesson 2 with more “mundane” or boring objects.

Lesson 3: Flying high: Becoming appreciation warrior.
Pick one moderately “annoying” person or object that is still possible to appreciate. Think someone’s yelling child, telemarketer calling you at dinner time, or neighbor who wouldn’t clean after his dog next to your area.
Objects could be a squeaking door, blinking bulb, malfunctioning appliance or frequently ringing telephone. You got the idea. I am sure you have tons of things you’d rather see go away, but will always survive even if they won’t :) For me right now – is the loud speaking gentleman chatting to his clients in close proximity to me (I am at Starbucks right now). And I love him :)
But back to our business – quickly jump to Lesson 1, grab that appreciation feeling and bring it in here. Now you know the drill – rinse and repeat. Start feeling a bit of, and then more and more appreciation toward this annoying person or object. Just because you can. You are flexing your power of igniting appreciation at will, it has NOTHING to do with the object of appreciation, it’s behavior or qualities. Feel love even! Work on increasing it.
What you are doing with this is what ancient teachers and countless masters were talking about: you are reawakening the power of consciousness, power of forgiveness, powers of healing from within.
I just named it “releasing resistance” – but it is really powerful universal energy cleaning practice.

Daily practice: Melting resistance for good.
In your daily activities, during idle times (driving, waiting) look for people, things and situations to appreciate. Start replacing meaningless idle thinking and otherwise “boring” moments with extremely powerful, active, mindful ALTITUDE work. Now you have a good reason to appreciate long lines, heavy traffic and “waiting for …” moments!
Can you appreciate this person? This company? This building? These trees? This driver passing by? Start with quick and easy “targets” – helpful salesperson, courteous driver, nice weather, beautiful park. Then grab mundane targets and when feeling ready and frisky enough – appreciate more challenging people and objects.
Make it your daily practice. The more often you will remember to find something to appreciate – the less resistance will be present in your vibration and the faster and more often your manifested desires will be knocking your door!

Very optional: Lesson 4: Extreme Altitude.
If you feel really frisky and is ready to conquer the world – repeat Lesson 3 but with the person or persons whom you really hate. For some people this could be … themselves. Start with the easier (less hated) ones. If you’ll do this exercise and succeed – you’ll soon notice certain bodily ailments start disappearing from your body. Including the ones labeled by medical industry as “incurable”.
Make a list of things (persons, objects, events) you hate or feel negative about and diligently, one-by-one, starting with easier ones – consciously change your feelings toward them from whatever you currently feel to appreciation and love.
Checklist: Think about object you used to hate. Feel appreciation and love? Done. Next one…
Remember: You are not appreciating that “bad” person or “ugly” event for some possible “goodness”. You’re erasing YOUR inner energy block that prevents universal wellness energy to flow freely through you. It has nothing to do with that external person. It’s has everything to do with cleaning your inner energy. But to make it truly happen – you got to feel sincere appreciation for that ugly, worthless son of a … I mean being :)
This is the same as forgiveness, but described as a doable self-guided process in practical step by step terms.
Please note that Extreme Altitude is an advanced practice that will be described in more detailed in my future writings. Feel free to “play with it” and do not be upset if that prove to be too challenging.

IV • Enter and Maintain the Desired State.

If you want to be happy, be.
– Leo Tolstoy

So far I gave you rather long informative introduction to concepts somewhat not directly related to the law of attraction: subjects of self-love, elimination of resistance, practicing appreciation, love and related explanations and practices.
Many (if not most) Law of Attraction coaching and education materials skip these essentials completely and jump all-in into the juicy, “the secrety” part: visualizations, present affirmations, meditations, etc… That would be a sandcastle approach that wouldn’t withstand a slight wind. Hence so many dissapointments from sincere practitioners.
I start with establishing the strong foundation. In fact if you’d do all the steps described above and scrap the rest – this already be enough to shift your life around, gain more energy and steer your life to the better in all aspects!

And yet now you’ll be ready for the state where setting up a clear intention will have you aligned with it and ready to allow actual physical manifestations.
The actual Law of Attraction work can be described in one word: the “STATE”.

Your practical work now will be to enter the STATE matching your intention described in the very first “Set Intention …” part.
So, what is this state?
This is the INNER EMOTIONAL STATE you’d be in if your intention would already be completely manifested in your life.
If your intention if financial independence – what would be your inner emotional state? Likely sense of freedom, joy, relaxation, no rush, flowing joy, appreciation of past lessons of hardships and to the current nice surroundings.
If your intention is rewarding career – your emotional state would be the sense of joy by doing the work you really love, connectedness to likeminded people, inspiration, flow of creativity and joy to know that ample compensation is happily flowing into your bank account on a regular basis.
Answering the question from woman struggling and dreaming about having her first child, Abraham answered:
“You need to get emotional baby first!”
This is your work. Get your “emotional baby” first.
And this is an ultimate Catch 22 of the Law of Attraction: You want something because you know that you’ll feel good after obtaining it. But to get what you want – you’ll have to make yourself feel emotionally NOW as if you already have what you want. This will allow your dream to manifest.
Using our previous driving the car analogy: the way to resolve this catch is to dissolve as much inner resistance as possible first (releasing breaks) and then enter and be in the emotional state matching what you want (driving!). Without releasing breaks – you won’t be able to go anywhere. Although you can somewhat move in a hit-and-miss fashion if your imagination powered by emotions and desire is strong enough. That’s where scarce examples of semi-successful applications of The Law of Attraction are coming from. People get excited and start really pushing their imagination and meditation practices without clearing inner resistance first. If resistance is not big – they start getting somewhat nice occasional manifestations. But they also began finding out that to keep good things coming – they have to keep up the pressure with really intense, dedicated and often exhausting visualization practices, or goodness flow stops and things quickly revert to the old ways of being and old routines.
This is akin to driving the car with breaks on. Releasing the breaks first will make it easy to you to keep your car moving forward with very little and often joyful effort.
As you already have a guide on how to dissolve your resistance – the only thing left – is learning to enter and practice being in THE STATE. This will require regular daily practices.
Learning to enter the “already manifested” emotional state while everything outside shows you the proof to the contrary could be challenging at the beginning. It is also a very personal work where certain instructions might work for one, but not for another. So the best way to start is to go with general instructions and then play with your imagination and notice what works better for you.

Practice:

The key to successful STATE is to feel it on an emotional level. Repeating mantras and seeing images of wealth without emotional charge – won’t do much difference. Abraham says that manifestation of emotions is the first sign of an upcoming manifestation of physical reality. So any visualizations must ignite emotional feelings of an accomplished goal. Once you succeed in that – you’re ready to enjoy The Law of Attraction as a wonderful tool to sculpt your life the way you want.
To practice the state – regular, 3 times a day, self-guided meditation sessions works the best. To do that:

Find comfortable place where you won’t be disturbed for 10-20 minutes. You may sit or lay down and relax.
Best to have your eyes closed to minimize distractions and induce more bodily relaxation.

Slowly breathe in and breathe out 3 times and follow your breathing to relax further.

Ignite in your mind the images of your desired manifestations, see your goal as already been accomplished. Live it. Feel how it feels when you are living your goal. Make your feeling stronger. See what you would do once your dream is already a reality.

Here’s emotional checklist:
- What and how would you feel emotionally?
- What would you see?
- What would you touch?
- What would you hear?

Use all your senses and always shower the whole picture with emotions. Build a mental scenario where all imagery and senses confirm the full manifestation of your desire.
Complete your meditation session by expressing gratitude for full manifestation of your desires.

Summary and Conclusion

That’s it for the practical introduction to mastering the amazing Law of Attraction. If you will diligently follow the steps described – you will start noticing your life quality will gradually improve and things will start going your way.

To summarize the teaching:

Practice self-love exercise twice daily.

Be in the state of appreciation as often as you could remember during your daily routine and idle moments.

Practice being in the emotional state as if your desire already manifested. Make it regular three times a day practice to become more and more comfortable with imagery of your dream and feeling of your success!

…and most important of all – Have Fun with it!

This article is about the automation process! As many of you might know I am very technical person and when i come across some beautiful approach or very useful process – I start thinking about making the most of it, increasing it or automating it.

When I read about the magical powers of gratitude this made me think. Gratitude is one of these “keys” that enables you to receive the fruits of your desires through the Law of Attraction powers. The more grateful you are – the more your energy is in tune with the universal energy and the mood of gratitude allows the process of manifestation of your intentions.

Appreciation is a very similar vibration. In fact the vibration of appreciation is very similar to the vibration of Love. Abraham explains that attitude of appreciation, the “mode” of appreciation makes you an immediate match to well-being and allows it to flow into your real physical experience.
Ever wondered why is that you cannot get something you really, really want? Or good things seems to flow into your life at a much slower pace than their opposites?
That is just because your inner vibration is the opposite of what you want. For major part – this inner “opposite” vibration comes from deeply ingrained unconscious thought patterns.

The way to overcome them – is to start offering thoughts that are matching your desires, not opposing them. The way you know that you’re offering the matching vibration is by the way you feel.

The feelings of joy, upliftment, hope, interest, inspiration - are the proof that your inner vibration is in the matching mode to any well-being you want.

As Abraham teaches – the quickest way to shift your vibration to the “proper”, higher, “manifestation” frequency – is by guiding your thoughts to better feeling thoughts.

There are many techniques to do that but the simplest and in fact most powerful way to do that is start offering gratitude and appreciation. It does not really matter what would be the object of your gratitude or what you will appreciate – as long as the inner, positive energy shift takes place.

The key to successful mastering of the Law of Attraction is consistency of these practices. The more often you express gratitude and appreciation – the less often you yield to the unhelpful vibrations and less likely allow any inner resistance to work against you.
While it is really easy to be grateful moment to moment – it is just as easy to forget to do that!

I personally found that lack of consistency in this work is the most common reasons of failure to manifest desires and frustrations that many people experience with the Law of Attraction.

In an effort to make my personal practices more profound and successful – I decided to call the power of internet to help with expression of appreciation and gratitude.

Today it’s extremely easy for everyone to have a website or launch a blog – and you can do it totally free with Google blogger service or very inexpensively with self-hosted WordPress.

So, if expressing gratitude and appreciation is such a powerful practice – what id we could do that 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Even while we sleep! So, after about 2 months worth of work I developed a set of universal web widgets, that I named “Magical Gratitude” Widget” and “Rampage of Appreciation” widget:

Special gratitude to: Law of attraction coaching, Law of attraction

Special thanks to: Law of attraction course, The law of attraction

These widgets allows you to write the list of things that you are grateful for and share your appreciation toward anything or anyone you want. Just click on any of these widgets to see how it works. Once you’re ready – click [Get widget code] button, copy HTML snippet and paste it into your blog or website. And voila – you got your own Magical Gratitude widget or Rampage of Appreciation widget. Or both!

The benefits of this process is multiple:

This process actually awakens your creativity and forces you to think, find, discover and write many things that you could be grateful for. Writing about subjects of appreciation and gratitude is very active and beneficial practice by itself.
Thinking about things to appreciate inevitably raises your vibration.

Once you grabbed the widget code and placed it on your site or blog – it always reminds you about so many things to be grateful for, so much beauty to appreciate – whenever you look at it.
And even beyond that – every visitor to your website can easily observe your gratitude and appreciation subjects. Every time this happens – it ignites the similar thoughts patterns within that person. And your website visitors might come to see your page with appreciation widget from all over the world.

Once you placed such widget on your website – anyone can grab the widget code from your website and create his own list of things to be grateful for and appreciate. What could be more beautiful than knowing that you are spreading bits of love and appreciation in the world. And this process is happening always, non stop, even while you sleep!

Within the widget I included function that allows anyone to get links from other websites when someone copies the widget from their site. By default it links here to support the development efforts, but you can request to change links to point back to your website (this is commercial, yearly service). When it happens – the more Gratitude and Appreciation widgets are taken from your site – the more ranking power it gives back to you.
The viral power of gratitude and appreciation works multiple ways and it always growing progressively.

These widgets are free to use and if you feel desire to have it customized for your website – feel free to let me know.

First time I was introduced to Esther, Jerry Hicks and the teachings of Abraham was by the virtue of their books few years ago. The subject of intention manifestation was and is particularly fascinating for me.

Recently I came across Abraham Hicks video clips on YouTube and this time the impression was not only positive it was shocking! The clarity and depth of Abraham’s teachings and surgical precision of the answers was beyond the impression the one would get from self-help workshop. Timeless truth was delivered in simple and easy words, tricky questions were answered with powerful blend of wisdom, humor and energy. Watching video clips from Abraham workshops and events was very entertaining and inspiring experience. You see the eyes, you hear the voice, you see eagerness to get an answer on impossible questions. With every word of Abraham you observe the person starting to relax, shine with inspiration and glowing with emotions of joy from simplicity of an answer that addressed the problem felt unmanageable just a few short moments ago.

After reading so many works of enlightened teachers I learned to recognize the word of a master from the word of a self-help guru or educator. When timeless wisdom comes by your experience – your inner being recognizes the truth. The unmistakable depth and the crystal clarity is there!

We are lucky to live in these wonderful times where we access the word coming from the Source in a matter of minutes. No need to travel thousand miles to attend monastery on the top of a mountain to learn from The Source.

Esther started to channel Abraham in 1986 and with the great help from Jerry Hicks (who passed away in 2011) – the workshops became available as a recordings worldwide.

It’s amazing to observe an amazing consistency of Abraham’s line of answers that was flawlessly maintained for more than 25 years! I welcome you to watch the videos and prove to yourself the quality and practical usefulness of Abraham teachings.

If needed to summarize The Teachings of Abraham in a few sentences – to make your dreams come true – you need to make yourself to feel emotionally good even if your outside circumstances are totally to the contrary.

Once you can learn to take control over your emotions – the goodness begins to flow your way! The most practical and fast way to get your emotions under control is learning to appreciate. Practice to appreciate things you love (that’s an easy part), then move over to appreciating things you didn’t care much about and then, just to make things interesting, learn to appreciate stuff that previously caused you to feel negativity. Once you grasp that skill – you’re well on your way to manifesting your desires.

Abraham says that no matter your current situation or current conditions – with a little willpower, desire and practice – you can make yourself feel good and get in full alignment with your own Vortex – your energy reality holding ALL your dreams.

Remember – feel good no matter what and appreciate!

And, on a final note, if you have a blog or website – you may boost your appreciation practice by creating your own Appreciation Widget, customizing it and placing on your website to share with the whole world your appreciation!

Many people cannot believe how simple Ho’oponopono practice is!
This ancient Hawaiian healing modality brought to us by famous Hawaiian healer Morrnah Nalamuku Simeona and later on simplified and practically applied by Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len – with absolutely miracle results.
When I found about Ho’oponopono for the very first time – I was absolutely fascinated by simplicity and power of “I love you” mantra as well as deep wisdom of Dr. Hew Len, where he gently admits that “he does not heal people”, he “heals part of himself that created disease”. While this statement could be mind boggling to grasp at first – many masters were teaching that we are ALL ONE and all problems as well as all solutions originate from within us. The Ho’oponopono mantra delivers the essence of many ancient teachings:
The Power of Taking Responsibility (for your own powers), The Power of Gratitude and The Power of Love.

From all them – the Power of Love – the mantra “I Love You” is the most powerful cleaning tool, that we can and should use daily.

Love heals, Love dissolves energy blocks, Love resolves all problems and allows our dreams to manifest.
But did you know that you can actually increase the power of Love in your daily Ho’oponopono practice?
Next time you use Ho’oponopono cleaning mantra while being next to- or thinking about some person, especially pronouncing “I love you” words – try to actually feel the love. Turn on your emotional love energy on a feeling level. Feel this love energy coming to life within you. If you’ll succeed, just a little bit, congratulations! You can practice this loving feeling with anyone – strangers, sales clerks, bypassers, loved ones, and of course – yourself. Other people does not need to know that you “emitting” love toward them – but I can guarantee – they will feel it on some level – some on a deep subconscious level, other will actually look at you, ready to smile!
This is the essence of “active” practice: actually adding the feeling of Love to Ho’oponopono mantra work. Emotional charge strengthen the cleaning and healing effect for yourself as well as for the other person. Nothing heals more powerfully and on a very deep levels as unconditional love. Add “feeling love” step to your daily Ho’oponopono practice and enjoy the wonderful results!

The beauty and simplicity of Self Identity through HO’OPONOPONO is its ability to erase memories and to replace them with inspirations for perfect living.

– says Mabel Katz.

For 12 years Mabel Katz has been studying *personally* with Dr. Hew Len, applying techniques, learning about special Ho’oponopono cleaning tools daily and helping Dr. Hew Len to conduct workshops.

After years of studying personal development modalities, and especially practicing Ho’oponopono cleaning tools and techniques I noticed that certain people have immediate success with practice, while others would get only occasional positive results, while yet another group experienced almost no change.

Is that an issue with practitioner’s “genes”, incorrect way of practice or modality itself?
Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len reiterated the simplicity of Ho’oponopono and “just do it” approach. But is there a possibility of “incorrect” way to do it vs. “correct” way?
The “light bulb” answer emerged when I’ve researched experiences of multiple participants who practiced meditation for many years and yet grew increasingly frustrated with their lack of progress in personal lives: “I’ve mediated for 20+ years and nothing changed”, reported one. Studying multiple sources detailing such experiences and correlating it with my own observations the conclusion started to appear.

My own experience with Ho’oponopono was glowing and almost immediate success at the beginning, little progress for months after and then another wave of solid success – but only after I understood the very important aspect of the practice.

The discovered answer applies to any modality that involves any sort of repetitive activity and it applies to Ho’oponopono cleaning mantras as well.
When person just mindlessly mumbling the Ho’oponopono cleaning mantras hundreds of times – this usually has almost zero effect. From my own experience when I “lost” myself mindlessly repeating the cleaning words – I neither saw nor felt any difference. There is no cleaning going on. The way our brain and mind works – when faced with any repetitive task (such as saying Ho’oponopono cleaning phrases) our conscious mind inertia tries to “delegate” this task to subconscious to get back to “active thinking” as soon as possible. Have you noticed that you can catch yourself sometimes thinking totally different and often negative stuff when repeating Ho’oponopono cleaning words? You just caught yourself unconscious and on autopilot. The same happens with meditation when mind loses itself in random thinking.
The key is your Presence. This is the Power of Presence that Eckhart Tolle was talking about and it is the same as “mindfullness” or “awareness” spoken by countless spiritual teachers and healers.
And *that* is the key difference between practicing ho’oponopono mindlessly and “active ho’oponopono”. Your consciousness is activated and is working together with you and the whole universe, vs. you repeating words mindlessly fast alseep with your eyes open.
The moment I turned on the light of awareness in my Ho’oponopono cleaning practice – the things started to improve and quite often very quickly.
So how do we add the light of PRESENCE in Ho’oponopono practices?

It is not difficult – you just need to maintain awareness of your feelings, your inner emotional state while doing the cleaning. For example when something triggers your negativity – you feel it inside – and start cleaning and be aware of your inner energy, your inner feelings, your inner emotional state. You are shining the light of your awareness into your inner being and at the same time with the help of Ho’oponopono cleaning – sending petition to divinity to restore your original, fully balanced state. When you say “I love you” and mindfully aware of your inner emotional energy – the transformation takes place. You may also do it when you feel happy, The Universe loves to embrace you and cooperate with you regardless of the emotional state you are in.

Try it – mindfullness of your inner emotions is very powerful addition to your practice to help you dissolve inner energy “errors”.

Ho’oponopono originated from Hawaii and was originally taught by Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona. Morrnah was a healer and in 1983 she received a great honor by being designated as a living treasure of Hawaii. She was teaching Ho’oponopono to small and large groups of people as well as to hospitals, colleges and even to United Nations personnel. She also founded “The Foundation of I, Self-Identity through Hoʻoponopono” to promote principles of Ho’oponopono around the world.

Historically Ho’oponopono healing system required the presence of mediator – senior qualified practitioner who would guide a healing process for practitioner. It is often that the group of people need be to interacting with each other in a certain way for the process to take place.
Morrnah updated Ho’oponopono in a way that healing and transformation process no longer required presence of any other person but the practitioner himself. Neither any specific interaction is required between practitioner and other people.

The miracle powers of Ho’oponopono self-healing and self-improvement practice would still be unknown to the world at large if not for the works of Joe Vitale, published as “The Attractor Factor” and especially his exceptional quality “Zero Limits” book.

Joe Vitale is best known as internet marketer, writer and speaker on the subject of self improvement. While internet marketing is something that perceived by many (including myself) with a great degree of skepticism – Joe Vitale’s experience on the subject of self improvement as well as his in-depth research about Ho’oponopono deserves the highest marks. It’s from Joe Vitale’s “Zero Limits” book that the world found out about true miracles and powers of Ho’oponopono as well as about Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len.

Dr Ihaleakala Hew Len

Dr. Hew Len was the most avid student of Morrnah Simeona and practitioner of updated Ho’oponopono technique. He was the first person who got documented and confirmed proof of the healing miracles initiated by the Ho’oponopono process. Dr. Hew Len observed Hooponopono healing powers himself when Morrnah Simeona healed his daughter from painful bleeding shingles (skin disease) that she suffered from for more than a decade without anyone or anything helping.

Being traditionally educated university-trained physician he decided to look deeper into the process that Morrnah Simeona was using. He signed into her seminar in 1982 and not without certain degree of struggle (“…she was talking to spirits and sounding nuts!…” – ‘Zero Limits’, page 42) managed to complete the training. She was staying and learning from Morrnah all the way till 1992 when she passed away. Paying utmost attention to her teaching and practices Dr Hew Len managed to simplify and improve Ho’oponopono process even more and with amazing results.

From 1984 till 1987 he worked as a staff psychologist for Hawaii State Hospital overseeing high security unit housing male criminally insane patients. Now, to make things clear – these are the type of guys you don’t want to turn your back on. These guys committed murders, rapes, assaults and due to their degree of “insanity” were locked into psychiatric high security facility. Violence against each other and staff members were common.

Fast forward to 1987 (3 years later) wrist and ankle restraints were no longer used in this facility. Violence almost ceased to exist, only involving mostly new patients. New off-site activities were introduced to former violent patients. The spirit and order in the unit was greatly improved and eventually the whole unit was closed because there was no need. People just got improved, healed and released or moved into other non-violent wards.

This all was documented, described my multiple witnesses and personnel.

How did such miraculous change took place in the hospital?

According to Dr. Hew Len:

He did not do any therapy or counseling with patients
He did not attend any staff conferences on patients
He practiced updated Ho’oponopono process on a daily basis that included accepting 100% of responsibility for everything being experienced by him.
(Zero Limits, page 142)

Dr. Hew Len improved and practiced updated Ho’oponopono process every day and this process caused the most miraculous transformation within the most challenging environment.

So what exactly is Ho’oponopono and how does it work?

When Joe Vitale met with Dr. Hew Len and asked him how exactly did he manage to heal these violent patients without actually seeing each of them in person, his answer was:

“I didn’t heal them. I healed part of myself that created them”. To me that was the most fundamental revelation to date. That phrase alone explains the most important presumption of Ho’oponopono:
You are 100% responsible for everything. Everything and everywhere! And it means not only your personal screwups and your personal successes. If means if someone somewhere did something and you became aware of that – you are 100% responsible for that.
Ho’oponopono is not your free ticket to guilt trip. Being 100% responsible is not the same as feeling infinitely guilty for miseries. It’s reminder of your creative powers and gentle welcome to return back to your inner nature. That is to Zero. Joe Vitale wrote a great book on the subject called Zero Limits. When you returning back to your most inner nature – to Zero – everything becomes available to you effortlessly and you are being driven by inspiration from Divinity, not by petty ego wants. Ho’oponopono’s Zero is the same thing that Eckhart Tolle names Unmanifested.
Back to practical reality – let assume that Zero is the next great thing after sliced bread. Or even before sliced bread. Whatever. How do we get to that “magical” state? What exactly needed to be done?

This is achieved by constant cleaning process. Cleaning is the actual Ho’oponopono practice. Cleaning what? You clean yourself from subconscious garbage – programs that run your life without your participation.

Apparently Ho’oponopono process is very simple. Actual Ho’oponopono cleaning process consists of repetitions of the following phrases:

I Love You

Please forgive me

I am sorry

Thank you

These phrases repeated will ignite the self transformation process for the practitioner. This is exactly what Dr. Hew Len did to invite divine transformation powers for his surrounding during his work at Hawaiian mental hospital.

The most powerful phrases here are: “I Love You” and “Thank You”. The powers of Love and Gratitude are unquestionable in every self-empowerment teaching, school or religion.

Who do you say these phrases? Essentially you just say them. No need to feel anything special, imagine anything, or otherwise to complicate this process. As Dr. Hew Len often says “just do it”. The process is as simple as breathing. When you breath in and breathe out – you clean your body from processed “polluted” air and enrich it with fresh, oxygen rich, good energy air. And all this happens without you mixing breathing process with any esoteric or complicated practices. It just happens and your body gets constant supply of oxygen.

Same with ho’oponopono. You repeat these phrases just like a mantra and the cleaning process happens. You may clean life situations, places, relationships and of course financial situations. When something comes to your awareness – you accept 100% responsibility for that and repeat the cleaning process. No guilt trips. No intellectualizing. No judgements. You clean. Divinity does the rest.
Divinity == God == Infinite Intelligence == ______________

Ho’oponopono cleaning is letting go and letting God.

Sincerely I never been a big fan of mantras and procedural practices. I been a few times at a local buddhist center for their meditation sessions. I like group meditation but their mantras about dragons and evils to me was a an utter nonsense.

With ho’oponopono it’s drastically different. I am very practical person and had to try everything on myself. I don’t mind to accept 100% responsibility for stuff or doing mantras as long as I’d see a positive results in my life. I don’t buy promises of salvation in the next life. I want to see results here and now – and better sooner than later or I’ll say “thank you” and move over to the next teaching. And ho’oponopono practice literally did a magic to me, my life, my family and my surroundings.

I stumbled over Dr. Hew Len’s saying “I didn’t heal them, I healed part of myself that created them…” at one of the lowest points in my life. This phase grasped my attention and forced me to read everything about Ho’oponopono. It just made such perfect sense to my miserable depressed mind. And of course I tried to practice it. What followed for me was literally miraculous.

At the end of two weeks, Dr. Schultz arrived for his regular morning visit, and after examining his patient, pulled up a chair and sat down. “I’m discharging you today. Your condition is stable, and there’s no reason to keep you here any longer. Now that doesn’t mean you’re well. Far from it. You need an indefinite period of convalescence as well as checkups at regular intervals. But you don’t need to be in the hospital any longer. You can continue with bed rest and medication at home.” The doctor went on to outline his at-home program of rest, medication, and regular office visits; his diet; social activities (none); even his sex life (also none). Lester was surprised, but determined to follow doctor’s orders. “How long will this go on, Doc?” he asked. “How long do I have to take it easy like this? I realize you can’t tell me exactly, but can you give me some idea?” He watched the doctor carefully as he waited for an answer. It seemed like a long time before Dr. Schultz spoke. “How old are you, son?” That wasn’t what he expected. He wondered what was coming next. There was something in the doctor’s manner he didn’t like. “Forty-two,” he answered and waited. Dr. Schultz looked out the window, his face impassive as he sat lost in thought. After a long moment, during which neither man moved, the doctor nodded his head once, a sharp decisive movement which frightened Lester, and spoke abruptly and with finality. “From now on, I’m afraid.”

“What do you mean, from now on?” A very sick feeling was rising from his gut, up into his stomach. “I mean that you cannot expect to live a normal life from here on.” He went on quickly when he saw Lester’s shocked look. “You’ve just had a very serious coronary; you’re lucky to be alive at all. Anyone else would have been dead by now with the severity of this attack.” The doctor paused, then cleared his throat, “I realize how difficult it must be for you to hear this, but I assure you it isn’t pleasant for me either.” He got up abruptly and walked to the window, his back to Lester. “I wish there were something else I could say; I wish I could tell you that in a few months you’d be back to normal and could pick up your life where you left off,” he paused, turning to face Lester quietly, “but I can’t. In all conscience, I can’t tell you that And I’m sorry.” Lester was angry now. “You’re sorry? Well, so am I! You saved my life … for what? So that I can be an invalid for the rest of it? What the hell kind of life are you giving me back anyway?” Once started, he couldn’t stop. He raved on and on. All his frustration, rage and anger poured out until the sick feeling in the pit of his stomach finally rose to his throat and he began to cough and choke. The doctor held a basin for him while he gagged and heaved and finally fell back exhausted onto the pillows, his hand shaking as he reached up to wipe his mouth. The doctor was shaking too as he carried the soiled basin to the bathroom. He carefully placed it on the floor, then hunched over the sink, one hand on each side of it supporting his weight, his forehead touching the cold mirror of the medicine chest on the wall. In spite of all his years of practice, these situations still affected him. He thought of home and wished he were there now, his day over, relaxing before dinner with a drink or two. With a deep sigh, he pulled himself erect and walked back into the room. “I’ll sign the discharge papers today. but you can stay on if you want,” he said quietly “If you need more time to make your arrangements, I’ll tell the nurse it’s okay.” He didn’t know what else to say. Lester answered, “No, that’s all right, I’ll leave today, this afternoon. There doesn’t seem to be any point in prolonging it” “All right, whatever you decide is all right. But remember that you can change your mind and stay a bit longer if you want.” He stood in silence for a moment, while he closely examined Lester’s ashen face. “Please be sure to take it easy when you get home. I can’t overemphasize the importance of that. You shouldn’t climb any stairs at all. And do you have shoes without laces; you know, loafers?” “Loafers? No, why?” “You might want to have someone buy you a pair. It’s better if you don’t have to bend over to tie your shoes. It puts an additional strain on your heart when you get into that position.” The idea struck Lester as ridiculous but all he said was “Okay, whatever you say.” He’d always hated loafers but it didn’t matter now. Then as he watched the doctor walk toward the door, a question occurred to him. “Doc,” he asked, “I’m not going to die, am I? I mean, I might have to kind of take it easy from here on, but I’m not going to die, right?” Dr. Schultz stopped. “I don’t know,” he answered, then turned to face Lester. “I wish I could give you a positive answer, but I can’t. The truth is that I simply don’t know. You’ve had a massive heart attack and you could live for another year or two, or you could go tomorrow. I just don’t know.” “Thanks for being honest with me, Doc. I’ll be seeing you.”

Lester goes home.

That afternoon, he went home to his penthouse as though to a tomb. “It is a tomb,” he thought, “and I’m a dead man. I guess I’ll just have to get used to it.” His sisters wanted to help and offered to take turns staying with him, to take care of him, but he sent them away. He just wanted to be by himself. He went to bed and mostly slept for three days, waking up only occasionally to eat, or take his medicines, or use the bathroom. Then he’d crawl, like a wounded animal, back to his hole. On the fourth day something changed. After his midday meal he was sitting in a chair, looking out the window at Central Park. There was snow; the trees were sparkling; the park looked like a fairyland. He was thinking of how beautiful it was and then realized that he wasn’t enjoying it at all. He could not respond, even to beauty. He was a virtual invalid, with no hope of ever getting any better. At best, he could look forward to years of sitting in this apartment, nursing a frail corpse that hadn’t the good sense to lie down and get it over with. That thought made him so furious he got up from his chair with the greatest surge of energy he’d had since his attack, went straight to the medicine chest in the bathroom and counted his pills. He found a good supply of the newer medications; sedatives and heart pills. There were also morphine tablets a doctor had prescribed some years before for the pain of kidney stones. There were certainly enough left in the bottle to take him off this planet if he chose to go. And morphine would be such a nice way to go; you just floated off on a warm, cozy cloud, everything rosy. It was certainly better than waiting for another heart attack. Okay. Now he had a choice. For the first time since his illness, he felt he had some control over what happened to him. He considered what to do. Should he take the pills now and get it over with? No, not right now he decided; he could always take them when and if things got too bad. He went back to his chair and began looking the situation over, speaking aloud to himself, “You’re still breathing. No matter what those doctors or anyone else says about the prognosis, you’re still breathing, and that’s what counts. Maybe there’s some hope after all.” “Okay, where do I start?” That question brought on the sinking feeling again, and it occurred to him that perhaps he should go ahead and take the pills at once. At least then he’d be out of his misery and could stop fighting. And what had he been fighting for all his life anyway? Just a little happiness, that was all; and he hadn’t found it, not ever, not in any way that lasted more than a few minutes or hours at a time. Momentary… that’s what life was… momentary… impermanent… always changing… you’d no sooner think you had it made, had everything nailed down and could relax, than the next thing would happen and there you were again … right back where you’d started … clutching, clutching, clutching for something you couldn’t hold even if you got it. What the hell was life all about anyway? What was it all about? What was he doing here on this planet? It didn’t make any sense to him that he should be born; go through all he had gone through in his life; never really get anywhere that really mattered; and end up with nothing, absolutely nothing except a dying body and eventually even that turns to dust. All his possessions and accomplishments felt meaningless and empty. “Like dust,” he thought. “Ashes to ashes and dust to dust… If the war doesn’t get you, the taxes must.” He had to laugh at the truth in that silly rhyme. Life seemed so stupid. But as he thought about taking the pills, he realized that he couldn’t give up yet. There was something stirring in the back of his mind … an elusive thought that there might be an answer if only he knew where to look. Well, he had nothing but time, he figured, and even though his body was half dead, he still had his mind; he could still think. “Should I try?” he wondered aloud. For a moment, he wavered, then decided with a shrug, “Oh, what the hell … I got nothing to lose. If it doesn’t work, I can always take the pills.” And he knew he would if it came to that. There was no doubt in his mind.

That being settled, he didn’t have to think about it again. His mind felt clearer than it had in a long time, and for the first time since his illness, he felt truly hungry. He went to the kitchen and fixed himself a real meal. Still very weak, he took his time and didn’t try to rush. As he ate, his mind was busy exploring new thoughts, questions, ideas of where to look for his answer. The new project was exciting and he felt himself coming alive again. Refreshed and strengthened by the meal, he went back to his chair by the window. “Where to begin?” he wondered, “Well, first, what are the questions?” What is life? What is it all about? Is there a reason for my being here in this world, and if so, what is it?” “What is life? What is it that I’ve been looking for?” “Just a little happiness, that’s all,” he answered himself. “Okay, then, what is happiness? How do you get it? Where do you find it?” “What is life? What is this world all about and what is my relationship to it?” “How did I get into this mess I’m in?” “Is there a way out of this mess?” He already knew the answer to that one. Other than dying, there is no way out, but he thought if he could only get the answers, at least he’d know the reason for his life. He might make some sense out of it all, and that would be something. It would have to do. First, he looked in the dictionary for definitions of happiness and life. They didn’t tell him anything he didn’t already know. Next, he went to his library of books collected over the years. There was Freud; could there be anything useful in that? No, he’d tried Freudian analysis for years, and it hadn’t helped. He’d also read every book Freud had written that had been translated into English and hadn’t found the answers. No, Freud had no answers for him. He went on to others; Watson’s Behaviorism, Jung and Adler, nothing for him in those, either. Then there were the philosophers. He began taking books from the shelves, putting them in a pile. He’d read them all cover to cover more than once, but maybe he’d missed something. After all, he thought, he hadn’t then had specific questions. Taking books to his chair by the window, he began to read. He skimmed through one after the other, stopping to read paragraphs or pages here and there. His head began to feel clogged with information, and his thoughts were spinning. More and more impatient, he went back to the shelves for other books, books on medicine, physics, engineering. He had books on everything and he looked through them all over the next two days. The room was a mess, books piled everywhere, some lying open on the floor where he had thrown them in his frustration. The only ones left on the shelves were a joke book and some biographies, which had been given to him as gifts. Where to look next? “You were always a smart boy” he told himself. “Didn’t you win a full scholarship to Rutgers by competitive exams when there were only three being given? Even though you were a Jew, they couldn’t hold that back from you. You won it! “And in school, weren’t you always on the honor roll? And haven’t you read tons of stuff on man, from engineering and physics to psychiatry and philosophy and medicine? “Well, if you’re so smart, big shot, what did all that study and knowledge and reading get you? Migraines, kidney stones, ulcers, appendicitis, pain, misery, unhappiness, and finally a coronary which should have finished you off and didn’t. What more do you need before you come to your senses? “For a smart boy Lester, you are stupid, stupid, stupid! All that knowledge has availed you nothing. And here you are looking for more, wanting more books written by someone else who hasn’t found the answers either.” “That’s that!” he told himself. “I’m finished with all that crap.” With that decision, he felt a lifetime burden lift from his shoulders. Suddenly he felt light, almost giddy. He realized he had actually been looking for the same answers all his life, but now he knew, without a doubt, that if they were to be found in any of the conventional places, he would have already found them. He would have to look somewhere else. And he thought he knew where. He would put all that useless knowledge aside, disregard everything he’d learned, go back to the lab and start from scratch. The problems were within him, he reasoned. It was his body, his mind, his emotions. The answers must be within him, too. That was his lab and that’s where he would look. It felt good. He went to his chair and began.

Answers begin to emerge.

For a month he sat, relentlessly questioning, probing. At first, he tried to obey doctor’s orders and spend a good part of each day resting in bed but he couldn’t stick with it. His mind was too active, and this new research was the most exciting thing he had ever done. He worked at it as intensely as he had worked on other projects, by trial and experience. He had two-way conversations with himself, first posing a question, then exploring each possible answer until he could either validate it or eliminate it. By doing this, he made his first big breakthrough; got the first real answer. It was about a month after he’d begun his self-search, and he was looking into the question of happiness. He’d already eliminated some answers and once again asked himself, “What is happiness?” The answer that came this time was, “Happiness is when you’re being loved.” That seemed simple enough. He went on. “Okay, would you say you are happy now? Do you feel happy?” The answer was no. “Okay,” was the conclusion, “then that must mean you are not loved!” “Well, that’s not exactly true,” came the rebuttal. “Your family loves you.” That made him stop and think. He saw again their concerned faces when he’d been so sick in the hospital, remembered the pleasure in their eyes when he’d returned home after each lengthy sojourn elsewhere, heard his sister Doris’ sweet voice on the telephone, “How are you, honey?” Oh, yes, he was loved. There was no mistake about that. And there were women, too. He could think of more than one who would marry him in a minute if he asked. He knew it was so because they had asked him, and had broken off the relationship when he refused. There were men who loved him, too, as a friend. These were men he had known all his life, real friends who had stood by him through all kinds of difficulties, who still called regularly just to say hello and see how he was doing, who enjoyed spending time with him. They loved him. It came as a shock that with all that love, he still wasn’t happy. It became obvious that being loved was not the answer to happiness. He threw it out and tried a new approach. “Maybe happiness lies in accomplishments,” he thought. He remembered when he’d won the Rutgers scholarship, when Kelivinator had upped his salary, when he got his first apartment, when he opened the first Hitching Post, when he made the coup in Canadian lumber. Proud of himself, yes. But happy? No, not what he would call happy. “Well, then,” he asked himself, “have I ever been happy and if so, when?” The first part was easy; of course, he’d been happy sometimes. But when, specifically? He began to look at it… there were the summer times years ago when he was camping out with the fellows. He had been happy then. Oh, not every minute, of course, so what were the specific moments? The first thing that flashed into his mind was a picture of him helping his friend, Sy, put up his tent one summer. Sy had arrived late in the afternoon and one of his tent ropes had broken. Lester had helped him, both of them laughing, pleased with their friendship, feeling good about themselves and each other. He had been happy then. He chuckled at the memory. He felt good even now, thinking about it. “What were some other times?” he asked, and the next thing he remembered was how he felt when his friend, Milton, had eloped in college. No one was supposed to know about it, but Milton had told his best friend, Lester. He had been very happy then; was it because he felt special that Milton had told him a secret? Upon reflection he saw that it wasn’t that. No, it was the expression on Milton’s face, talking about his beautiful new bride and how much he loved her; they just didn’t want to wait until after college. Lester had felt a twinge of envy for a moment, but then had looked closely at his friend’s face beaming with love and he knew he had definitely been happy for Milton. He felt the happiness well up in him even now, after all the years, as he sat with eyes closed, reviewing the scene in his mind. Yes, he had been happy then. As he continued to review the past, happy times came faster and faster. He remembered June and driving to pick her up for a date, his heart singing with love, impatient to see her. He had been happy then. And there was Nettie. Oh, God, he hadn’t thought about her for such a long time. He really didn’t want to now, there was so much pain attached to it, but there it was. He’d been running away from that pain all his life it seemed, and he was tired, tired of running. It was the end of the line and he simply couldn’t run any longer. So he forced himself to look and to question. Oh, yes, he had been happy with Nettie. Memories flashed through his mind, moments when he had held her in his arms so tenderly wanting to take her right inside himself. Moments at parties, when he would unexpectedly catch her eye across a room and be flooded with love. Remembering her smile, the sun glinting on her hair, the serious look on her face as they sat studying together, the faint flowery smell of her, the sound of her laughter, her voice soft in the night, “I love you, Lester.” He sat back and let the pictures flood him, wash over him, let it all flow, let the longheld pain flow. His heart ached until his carefully erected, protected dam broke and for the first time, he cried over his lost love, his Nettie, his darling. Grief seemed to come from some bottomless pit of pain and loneliness. It went on for what seemed like hours and when it was over, he felt drained and weak. When he could, he crept from the chair to his bed and slept like a dead man.

What Is happiness?

In the morning, he woke very early feeling rested and refreshed. His first thought was, “Well, then, what is happiness?” He laughed at his tenacity as he rolled out of bed and into the shower. Preparing breakfast, his thoughts continued to explore the question which dominated his mind. Well, then, what is happiness? What is the common denominator in all these moments? There was Sy, there was Milton, then June, and his Nettie… what was the common denominator? Somehow he knew it was tied up with love, but he could not, at first, see how. When it finally came, it was so simple and pure and complete an answer that he wondered why he had never seen it before. “Happiness is when I am loving!” He realized that in every instance his feeling of love for the other person had been intense and that’s where the happiness had come from, from his own feeling of loving. It was so clear to him now that being loved was not the answer. He could see that even if people loved him, unless he felt love in return, he was not going to be happy Their loving might make them happy but it would not, could not, make him happy. It was a new and mind-boggling concept and even though he instinctively knew that it was correct, his old scientific training didn’t allow him to accept it without testing. So he looked into his past, remembering those times in his life when he had been loving and happy, and he recognized that at those times, the other person had not necessarily been loving him. He looked at the other side too, the unhappy times and now that he knew what to look for, it was very obvious that he had not been loving. Oh, he’d thought at the time that he loved them, as with Nettie and June. He loved them, needed them, wanted them. But was that love, he wondered now. No, it was painful … he was experiencing pain that they didn’t love him. And even though he called it love, he was really wanting to possess them completely, thinking he needed all their love to be happy. That was the key! He had been experiencing a want or lack of love, expecting the other person to supply the love, waiting for the other person to make him happy. He had to laugh, it seemed so ludicrous. To think that someone else could make him happy seemed like the funniest thing in the world. He knew, better than any one, that no one could ever make him anything. He’d always been very proud and stubborn and self-sufficient, sure that he never needed anyone or anything. What a joke!” he thought. The truth is that he’d been all the time dying inside for want of love, thinking he had to get it from someone. Tears rolled down his cheeks as he laughed and laughed at the realization that what he’d been looking for all his life was inside him. He had been like the absent-minded professor looking everywhere for his glasses which were on top of his head all the time. “What a shame,” he thought, wiping away the tears. “What a shame that I never saw this before. All that time, all those years wasted … what a shame” “But wait a minute!” he thought. “If happiness is when I’m experiencing love for the other one, then that means happiness is a feeling within me. “And if I felt unloving in the past? Well, I know I can’t change the past, but could I possibly correct the feeling now inside myself? Could I change the feeling to love now?” He decided to try it. He looked at his most recent unhappiness, the day he left the hospital. “First,” he asked himself, “was I experiencing a lack of love that day?” “Yes,” he answered aloud. “Nobody gave a damn about me, not the nurses, not the orderlies, not even Dr. Schultz. They did not care. As sick as I was, they threw me out, sent me home to die so they wouldn’t have to watch one of their failures… well, the hell with them. They can all go to hell.” He was shocked at the vehemence in his voice. His body trembled with rage and he felt weak. He really hated the doctor. He could feel it burning in his chest. “Oh, boy” he thought, ” this sure isn’t love.” “Well, can I change it?” he asked. “Is it possible to turn it into love for the doctor?” “Hell, no,” he thought, “why should I? What did he ever do to deserve any love?” “That’s not the point,” he answered himself. “The point is not whether he deserves love. The point is, can you do it? Is it possible to simply change a feeling of hatred into a feeling of love-not for the benefit of the other person but for yourself?” As the thought crossed his mind, he felt something break loose in his chest. A gentle easing, a sense of dissolving, and the burning sensation was gone. He didn’t trust it at first. It seemed too easy so he pictured again the scene with Dr. Schultz in the hospital. He was surprised to find that it brought only a mild feeling of resentment rather than the previous intense burning hatred. He wondered if he could do it again. “Let’s see,” he thought, “what did I just do?… Oh, yes. Can I change this feeling of resentment into a feeling of love?” He chuckled as he felt the resentment dissolve in his chest. Then it was totally gone and he was happy. He thought of Dr. Schultz again, pictured him in his mind and felt happy, even loving. He saw now, reliving that last meeting, how the doctor had hated to tell him the things he had to say. He could feel the doctor’s pain at having to tell a young man in the prime of his life that his life was over. “Doctor Schultz, you son-of-a-gun,” he said, grinning, “I love you.” “Well, it worked on that one,” he thought. “If my theory is sound, then it should work on everything.” Eagerly he began trying it on other moments, and the results were consistently the same. Each time that he asked himself if he could change the feeling of hostility or anger or hatred to one of love, the dissolving process took place. Sometimes he had to repeat it over and over until he felt only love for the person. At times, the entire process would take only a minute or two; at other times, it might take him hours of working on a particular person or event before his feelings were only loving, but he would doggedly stay with it until it was completed on each person and each incident. His entire life came up for review in bits and pieces. One by one, he changed to love all the old hurts and disappointments. He began to feel stronger as the weight of his pain dropped away. He was happier than he had ever been in his entire life, and he kept it going, feeling even more happiness with each new thing corrected. He stopped going to bed because he had so much energy that he couldn’t lie down. When he felt tired, he would doze in his chair and awaken an hour or so later to start in again. There was so much to be corrected in his life that he didn’t want to stop until he had looked under every stone and around every corner.

How far could he take this?

Another thing that intrigued him was the question of how far he could take this. As he corrected each thing, he became happier, he could feel it; but he wondered how far he could go. Was there a limit to happiness? So far, he hadn’t found any boundaries to it and the possibilities were staggering. So he kept on, around the clock. His strength was returning, but not wanting to be distracted, he avoided getting involved in social activities and would sometimes even pass up the Sunday gettogether with his family. He did his food shopping in the middle of the night, around two or three in the morning. There were very few people up and about at that hour, and he enjoyed the quiet of the city. He went on correcting his life, even while doing the necessaries. And he noticed that when someone in a store or on the street would annoy him, he was able to correct that response with love either immediately or shortly thereafter. This pleased him, and he found himself loving others with an intensity far beyond anything he had imagined possible. As he described it many years later, “When I mixed with people, and again and again when they would do things that I didn’t like and within me was a feeling of non-love, I would immediately change that attitude to one of loving them even though they were opposing me. Eventually I got to a point where, no matter how much I was being opposed, I could maintain a feeling of love for them.” He continued to correct his life with consistent results for about a month until one day he got stumped. He was working on the last time he had seen Nettie, the day she chose someone else. He had already corrected a lot of the pain with regard to her; she had come to his mind again and again, and it had not always been easy. In fact, it had been very difficult at first to work on that old relationship but gradually as he gained strength, he had been able to confront some of those long-buried feelings and correct them. But on this particular day, no matter how hard he tried to correct it with love, there was still a feeling of despair which he could not dislodge. He wanted to escape, to get out of his chair and run, to get something to eat, to do anything that would get him away from his intense feeling. Instead, he decided to sit there until he handled it. Something told him that if he let that feeling push him around, if he lost that battle, he would have lost the war. He stayed in his chair, determined to ride it out. He probed, “What’s wrong here? Why isn’t it dissolving? Nettie, oh, my Nettie.” He began to cry now, tears streaming down his cheeks, all the pain he had locked up on the day they parted came now in a flood. “Why did you do it, Nettie?’ he cried aloud. “Why did you do it? Why did you leave me, my darling? We could have been so happy, we’d have married and been so happy.” “Damn,” he thought, “why do people do things like that? They throw their happiness away and everyone else’s too. They have no right to do that… they shouldn’t be allowed to do that… there should be some way of making them change… some way of changing the things they do and the effect they have on people…” He felt the old pain of ulcers starting up again in his stomach and realized with certainty that the ulcers had started that last day with Nettie. He’d drunk the beer and thrown up; that had been the beginning. He wished it had been different. More than anything else in this world, he wanted to change what had happened. He wanted to go back and live it over again the other way with Nettie choosing him, with them getting married and being happy forevermore. “Well, you can’t change it, stupid,” he shouted at himself, “so you might just as well stop trying to.” That jolted him. He saw that he was still trying to change something that had been finished more than twenty years ago. “No, it can’t be finished,” he cried. “I won’t let it be finished.” His throat hurt now and he felt like screaming and smashing things. Then, like instant replay, he heard what he’d said, “I won’t let it be finished.” That was the source of his anguish; he’d wanted to change it all these years and so he kept it alive inside himself, the pain buried deep, eroding his happiness. “Well, the hell with that,” he said, almost flippantly. Suddenly, with that decision, the whole thing was gone. He couldn’t believe it. He felt for the hurt, the pain, the despair. It was all gone. He thought of Nettie as he remembered her, so young, so beautiful, and he simply loved her. There was none of the old painful feeling left. He began to look now in this new direction. He realized that the cause of his ulcers was that he had wanted to change everything, starting with his nearest and dearest and extending out to the rest of the world, including the United States, other countries, government heads, the weather, endings of movies he had seen, the way businesses were run, taxes, the army, the President; there was nothing he could think of that he had not wanted to change in one way or another. What a revelation! He saw himself subject to and a victim of everything he wanted to change! He began dissolving all that. When he thought of something that caused him pain about a person or situation, he would now either correct it with love or dissolve wanting to change it. This added a new dimension to his work, and his progress accelerated. By the time a second month had gone by, it was all he could do sometimes to stay in his chair, he became so energized. And there were times, when he had worked on particularly painful incidents in his life, that he literally could not sit and would go out into the city and walk for miles, reviewing, correcting, dissolving until he had burned off enough energy to sit still again. Sometimes he felt as though he had hold of a chain with many links of incidents on it which needed correcting. Once he got hold of the chain, he would follow through incident by incident until there was nothing left to be corrected. An example of such a chain was jealousy. He had always been intensely jealous but managed to hide it most of the time under a facade of not caring. Nevertheless, his insides used to burn if the girl he was with so much as looked at someone else, or even mentioned another man. Once he decided to correct this tendency in himself he looked for it, not content to let it come willy-nilly. He would probe his memory for instances where his jealousy had driven him; correct it; then look for more. When he thought it was cleared out, he tested himself by imagining the girl he loved most making love with the man he would least want her to be with. It was a good test because he could see immediately if there was more work to do. Sometimes the intensity of his feelings would almost drive him mad, but he continued for days until there was no last vestige of jealousy left in him. When he could finally enjoy their enjoyment of each other, he knew he was finished with jealousy. Insights came with increasing frequency. He would often gain a sudden, complete understanding of something which had always puzzled him. Philosophies he had studied became clear, and he could see that they had often started off on the right track, only to veer off into distortions, having been diverted by an incorrect idea springing from the author’s own storehouse of uncorrected feelings. His mind began to feel like crystal … clear, sharp. Colors seemed brighter and everything was more sharply defined.

Lester asks “What is intelligence”?

There was a certain greater freedom I felt. It was easier to concentrate because of it and I began to look more closely at my mind. “What is my mind?” I asked. “What is intelligence?” Suddenly a picture flashed of an amusement park bumper-car ride. Small round cars each have a flexible pole in the rear which connects to a wire screen spread across the ceiling. The energy to power all the cars comes from this single source, the ceiling, and is transmitted by means of the pole at the rear of each car. The amount of energy is regulated by individual drivers using a foot pedal. This makes the ride more interesting. The steering mechanism is constructed to be oversensitive. Therefore, it requires the utmost delicacy of handling to maintain control of the car because the slightest movement of the wheel sends it careening and the cars are constantly bumping into each other, out of control. And it seems that the more a driver tries to control his car, the more erratic becomes the action. This was a picture of mankind today. We all use the same single intelligence and power taken from above. But most of us are out of control, using the energy to bump into each other. However, I began to see that I could regulate the amount of power and intelligence for my own use and that I could have control of it. I liked that so I began to dig at it. I began to examine thinking, and its relationship to what was happening. And I saw that whatever was happening had a thought behind it at some time prior. And that the reason I had never before related the two was because of the element of time between the thought and the happening. But I did discover that with everything that was happening to me I’d had a thought of it before it happened; and that, if I could grab hold of this concept and find a way to use it, I could consciously pre-determine everything that would happen to me! Above all, I saw that I was responsible for everything that had happened to me, formerly thinking that the world was abusing me! And I saw that my tremendous effort to make money and then losing it was due only to my thinking; that I had been always seeking happiness, and thought that making money would do it. So whenever the business started to make money, and the money did not bring me the happiness I wanted, I began to lose interest and the thing collapsed. I had always blamed it on other people and circumstances, not realizing that it was simply my subconscious knowledge that this is not happiness which caused me to lose interest and that, in turn, caused the business to collapse. This was a tremendous piece of freedom, to think that I am not a victim of this world, that it lies within my power to arrange the world the way I want it to be; that rather than be an effect of it, I can now be in control of it and arrange it the way I would like it to be. That was a tremendous realization, a tremendous feeling of freedom. Discovering that my happiness equated to my loving, and that my thinking was the cause of things happening to me in my life gave me more and more freedom; freedom from the subconscious compulsions that I had to work, I had to make money, I had to have girlfriends. Freedom in the feeling that I was now able to determine my destiny, I was now able to control my world, lightened my internal burden so strongly that I felt there was no need for me to have to do anything. Plus, this happiness was so great. It was a new experience for me. I was experiencing a joy that I never knew existed, never dreamed could be. So I decided, “This is so great, I’m not going to stop until I carry it all the way.” I had no idea how far it could go. I had no idea how joyous a person could be. But I was determined to find out.

How joyous could he get?

During the third month, things went even faster. There was a depth to his feelings that threatened to bowl him over at times. His knees sometimes buckled, but he stayed with each feeling until it was corrected. He was becoming happier and happier, still looking to see if there were any limits to what he could accomplish with this new process. “How much further can I go?” he would ask himself, then push it even further. It was also during the third month that he ran into an old adversary, one he had seen out of the corner of his eye again and again throughout his life. It had lurked nearby, always on the periphery and he had never before been willing to meet it head on. It was the fear of death. Now he recognized it as the basis of every single feeling he had ever had. He began to coax it out into the open, wanting to take a good look at this biggest foe of all, which had so very nearly won the battle only a few months ago. He began to lure those feelings into the open and to dissolve them. And it worked! He got to the place where, with great confidence, he laughed and laughed and laughed at this foe which had kept a fire lit under him his entire life so that there had not been one moment of real peace, ever. This last of the monsters turned out to be, after all, only a feeling. As he dissolved the fear of death, he realized one day that his body was sound, healed. The physical impairment was corrected. He couldn’t explain to anyone how he knew; he just knew it as surely as he knew who he was. His body was sound. By the end of the third month, he had slipped into a blissful, joyous state, which he could only describe as feeling like a million orgasms surging all at once through his entire body. It went on and on, and he realized that this feeling, although not sexual, was what he had always been looking for but never found in sex. He felt light, living for weeks with joy exploding inside him every moment. Everyone and everything became exquisitely beautiful to him. He kept looking for more things to correct, but there didn’t seem to be much. Occasionally something would occur to him, but it would be gone almost before he could define it and the joy would surge through him even more strongly. After several weeks, he began to wonder if there could be anything better beyond this joy. He was sitting in his chair in the usual position, slumped down, legs stretched out, chin touching his chest. He had the idle thought without expecting an answer, but the answer came. What was beyond this incredible, joyous state that didn’t stop? He saw that it was peace, imperturbability… and he realized with certainty that if he accepted it, if he decided to move into that peace, it would never, ever go away… and he went… slipped into it so effortlessly… with just a decision to have it… he was there. Everything was still. He was in a quietness that he now knew had always been there but drowned out by incessant noise from his accumulated, uncorrected past. In fact, it was more than quiet; it was so far beyond anything imaginable that there were no words to describe the delectable deliciousness of the tranquility. His earlier question about happiness was answered too. There were no limits to happiness, but when you have it all, every minute, it gets tiresome. Then this peace is just beyond … and all you have to do is step over the line into it. “Is there anything beyond even this?” he wondered. But as he asked, he knew the answer. This peace was eternal and forever, and it was the essence of every living thing. There was only one Beingness and everything was It; every person was It, but they were without awareness of the fact, blinded by the uncorrected past they hold on to. He saw this Beingness as something like a comb. He was at the spine of the comb and all the teeth fanned out from it, each one thinking it was separate and different from all the other teeth. And that was true, but only if you looked at it from the tooth end of the comb. Once you got back to the spine or source, you could see that it wasn’t true. It was all one comb. There was no real separation, except when you sat at the tooth end. It was all in one’s point of view.

Lester discovers amazing natural powers.

If that were really true, he thought, then he could tune in at any point he chose. If he were the whole comb, he could tune in with any tooth at all. He thought of a friend in California, wondered what he was doing at that moment and was immediately there in his friend’s living room. He could see the room, the people in it, his friend sitting there talking to them. He picked up the phone and called. “I just want to check something with you,” he said. “You are in the living room and there are three other people there….” He went on to describe in detail the room, the people and what they had just been talking about. He heard a gasp from the other end of the phone and asked if what he had described were true. His friend answered, “Yes, but how the hell could you possibly know that?” With a laugh Lester said, “I’m right there. Can’t you see me?” There was a long silence. He could feel panic and realized with surprise that it was his friend’s panic he was feeling. He felt as though he were right inside the other man, feeling and thinking exactly as the other one. It was a totally new experience, and it suddenly came to him that he was the other one… that he was, in fact, every other one … because his essence was the essence of all. He was sitting at the spine of the universal comb. He had a new point of view and could see everything. To ease his friend’s fear, he said, “Oh, come on, you’re kidding me, right? When I described those people and what everyone said, you only told me that I was right to make a joke, didn’t you? It wasn’t true, was it?” He could feel the panic subside as his friend answered, ”Lester, you son-of-a-gun, are you trying to tell me you made all that up?.” “Certainly I made it up. What do you think I am, some kind of a nut? It was just a joke.” “Well, you really had me going there for a while, because everything you said was true,” his friend was laughing now. “Wow what a fantastic coincidence,” Lester said. “Well, I won’t keep you from your company any longer. Give me a call when you get to New York next time. We’ll go to lunch together and have a good laugh over this.” “Okay, Les, be seeing you.” Lester hung up realizing that he’d have to be more careful in the future. He’d forgotten that people think in very narrow terms, unable to accept anything outside the usual. Suddenly, he remembered himself a few short months ago. He would have thought anyone crazy who had tried to tell him something like this. How rigid he had been then, how closed his mind had been, how limited … and now… he roared with laughter at the change. When I started my search, I was a very convinced and absolute materialist. The only thing that was real to me was that which I could see, feel and touch. My world was as solid as concrete. Then when these revelations came to me that the world was just a result of my mind, that matter had no intelligence, and that our intelligence and our thinking determined all matter and everything about it; when I saw that the solidity which I formerly had was only a thought, my nice, solid, concrete foundation began to crack. A lifetime of build-up began to tumble and my body shook and shook. I just shook for days. I shook like a nervous old person. I knew that the concrete view I’d had of the world was never going to be again. But it didn’t drop away gracefully with ease. For days, I actually shook, until I think I shook the whole thing loose. Then my view was just the opposite of what it had been months previously-that the real and solid thing was not the physical world, was not even my mind; but it was something which was much greater; that my essence, the very Beingness of me was the reality and that it had no limits, that it was eternal, and that all those former things that I used to see as me, like my body and mind, were the least of me rather than the all of me. That the All of me was my Beingness.

The last tremendous breakthrough.

It was April 1952 when he made the last tremendous breakthrough into the quiet state. “Can it be only three short months since I was dying?” he wondered. It was hard for him to believe all that had happened to him in such a short span of time. It seemed as though a million lifetimes had gone by and yet it seemed like only a moment. His sense of time had changed radically. When he thought about it, he realized that, from where he was, in the quietness, there was no time. There was an ever-nowness. Time was relative and had meaning only in the world of differences, of separation. Where he was, everything was the same, made up of the same substance, the same inexpressibly beautiful, all-powerful peace which was inherent in every atom of the universe. He was that peace… his body seemed small and distant sitting in its chair. He could see it there if he chose, but he felt himself spread across the entire universe; that body was only an infinitesimal speck in the vastness that he was. He was omnipresent. There was no travel, only a thought, and he was there. It was obvious to me that I wasn’t that body and mind as I had thought I was. I just saw it—that’s all. It’s simple when you see it. So I let go of identifying with that body. And when I did, I saw that my Beingness was all Beingness, that Beingness is like one grand ocean. It’s not chopped up into parts called “drops of bodies.” It’s all one ocean. That caused me to identity with every being, every person, and even every atom in this universe. And that’s an experience so tremendous, it’s indescribable. First you see that the universe is in you, then you see the universe as you. Then you know the Oneness of this universe. Then you are finished forever with separation and all the hellishness that’s caused only by separation. Then you can no longer be fooled by the apparent limitations of the world. You see them as a dream, as an apparency, because you know that your very own Beingness has no limits! It was a very interesting trip. I had never known the things that I experienced existed. I had never known there was such power in the mind. But I saw how my mind could trick me so I had a maxim, “I only know that which I can do.” When I would ask myself the question, “What can I do?”, it was a shock every time. So I would keep experimenting until I could do whatever it was. I kept that going and great things opened up. “If I am these things, can I do them?” I would ask. “If I am all-powerful, what power can I exert?” And powers came to me. And I proved each one to at least two witnesses. That’s because I was trained as a physicist. You always have to go to the lab and do it to prove it, but it’s good training. I’ll tell you the first thing I did. There was a cup on the table and when someone came into the room, I said, “I can move that cup to the other side of the table with my mind. Do you believe I can?”. If they said Yes, it was instantly moved; if they said No, it remained still. I wouldn’t impose on other people. If they didn’t accept it, I wouldn’t bother them. Of course, not having had much experience with it at first, I made mistakes. I even had people walk away from me and not talk to me. I learned to keep quiet and not disturb peoples’ beliefs and convictions. Once he had proven, beyond any doubt, that he had indeed acquired the powers he used to scoff at, he saw that they, in themselves, were a trap if he tried to hold onto and develop them for the amazement and amusement of himself and others. They were not an end in themselves, and so he let go and moved on. Later, there were occasions when someone needed a demonstration in order to break through his or her own limitations, and, at those times, unusual things would happen. But Lester never felt like the doer of them. He was only the clear catalyst, without ego involvement. He also realized the source of intelligence. He saw that there is only one intelligence and we all have it. Therefore, unlimited knowledge, omniscience, is available to all. And he saw it was the same with power; we all have unlimited power, omnipotence. Omniscience and omnipotence are within each one of us. Contemplating the source of intelligence and energy, I discovered that it too was available in unlimited amounts, and that it came simply by my freeing myself from all these former compulsions, inhibitions, entanglements, hang-ups. I didn’t have to be subject to anything. Seeing this allowed the power that was right behind my mind to flow through as it had never flowed through before. I saw that I had previously dammed this energy, this power and all I had to do was pry loose the logs of the dam—and that’s what I was doing. On discovering each thing, I was removing a log and allowing this infinite flow—just like a water dam would flow if you pulled the logs out one by one. And the more logs you pull out, the greater the flow, so all I needed was to remove the logs and let the infinite energy and power flow. And there were times when I’d get the realization of what I am that would put so much energy into me I would jump up from my chair. Then I would go right straight out the front door and start walking and walking and walking, for hours at a time—and sometimes for days at a time! I just felt as though my body could not contain that much energy, that I had to walk or run some of it off. I remember walking the streets of New York City in the wee hours of the morning sometimes, just walking at a very good pace, not being able to do anything else. By the time he had finished these experiments, he had proven for himself that the source of all objective physical phenomena was the mind; that the mind has no limits except those one mentally imposes upon oneself; and that this is true for everyone, with no exceptions. Inherently each person has the ability to have, be, or do whatever that person wills or desires. The realization of the omniscience and omnipotence of each mind is what finally got him out of his chair. He wanted to share with others what he had discovered, wanted to help them discover it for themselves. He wanted others to know the incredibly beautiful, tremendous Being that each one is.

Lester shares his discovery.

He went first to those who seemed to be already looking in that direction, the metaphysical groups. Looking in the newspaper, he found weekly meetings listed for the various groups in New York City and began to attend them and make friends. After the three-month period, I attended a metaphysical group just two short blocks away, Dr. Schaefer’s group. He would call the students up to the front and ask them to give a talk, The first time he called on me, I told him I didn’t want to go up, so he by-passed me. And then, after he stopped asking me, I realized it was silly. The only reason I wasn’t speaking was that the old tendencies remained, but the effectiveness of them was totally gone. The compulsiveness was done away with and even though the tendency remained, it was like a burnt rope. If you try to pickup a burnt rope, it just falls apart. It looks like a rope, seems to be a rope, but it has no strength. Seeing that, I volunteered to go up and give a talk. First time in my life! Here I am, up in front of a group of about sixty people. When I got up there, I was surprised that I wasn’t nervous. I was looking at them, they were looking at me. And as I was talking, I had a second thing going on in the background, “Gee!” I kept thinking. “This is easy. I never knew it was this easy!” And that was my first experience in my life of getting up in front of a group and talking. Lester also began to read books on metaphysical subjects and was pleased to find that the things he had experienced had also been experienced by others. In fact, there was quite a body of available literature on the subject. He often found himself the center of attention with his new friends, because they had not met anyone before with such a depth of personal experience of what they were seeking for themselves. They found him very easy to talk to and were eager to hear how he had achieved his state of personal peace. It was difficult for him to put the actual process into words but he found that in talking to people on a deeply personal level, he would find the right thing to say to help them achieve some relief from their pent-up emotional blocks.

Lester makes a million dollars.

The primary thing he talked about in those days was the inner perfection of Beingness of each one. As he talked, in his mind he would see the other person as all-perfect, allknowing, all-powerful–a perception that gave the other one quite a lift. However, from his long-time experience in business, when asked, Lester would occasionally offer guidance on a practical level. And, in 1953, it occurred to him that despite all his accomplishments, he still had not made a million dollars. He had also noticed that many of his new friends had the impression that only by being poor could they have the freedom they’d read about. Many of them had interpreted the tranquil state as one of lack. Admonitions such as “Let go of your attachment to things” and “Things cannot make you happy” had been misinterpreted as meaning that one had to give up ambition, money, prosperity, and abundance in order to achieve inner tranquility. Lester knew that this was not so, that it was the attachment to money and things that created the non-freedom and that this attachment was itself only a feeling. He was also very sure, based on his own experience, that all feelings could be corrected, let go of released. So he set out to make his million, to prove both that one could have and accomplish things in the world without the deadly attachment and that spiritual freedom didn’t mean deprivation. On the contrary, it meant the ability to have, to be, and to do anything and everything. But talking about it was one thing. Actually doing it was the only way to prove it. He decided to prove his point with real estate in New York City. In 1953, he began buying apartment buildings with no cash down. He would either run them for profit or sell them for quick profit. Within six months, he had acquired well over a million dollars equity in property. I started in the real estate business with no cash and bought apartment houses using mortgages and loans. With no effort, I acquired twenty-three apartment houses of twenty to forty units each. I found it was easy to do. Every deal had to be a very harmonious one. Everyone in it had to gain. If there were a broker involved, I made sure he got his full commission. The seller benefited by getting what he wanted, his building sold. And if there were a lawyer involved, he got his share. Everyone benefited in every deal. That’s the way all deals should be. There’s no need for anyone to suffer. Everyone should get what he wants out of it. Everyone should benefit. Every seller wants to sell. Every buyer wants to buy. I found that harmony is the basic law of the universe and when we’re in tune with it, things can be done with little effort. “What’s the next step?” he wondered. He had proven he could apply his new theory to business, he had over a million dollars; what was left to prove? Then it occurred to him that the need to accumulate wealth was not security. It could all be lost. Also, the need for accumulation indicated a lack of conviction in one’s ability to produce what one needed at will. Therefore, he decided, “From here on, I have everything I need as I need it,” and proceeded to test out still another theory.

It was a few days before Christmas, cold, and I wanted a short vacation of two weeks in warm country. Los Angeles was farthest away from New York City so I said, “Well, I’m having a vacation in Los Angeles over the Christmas- New Year holidays.” With full confidence that “everything is A-okay and taken care of” I packed a bag and walked out of the house. Within a block, I bumped into a man I hadn’t seen for many, many years who said, “Hey, Lester! I’ve been looking for you. Remember that money I owed you? I’ve been wanting to pay you. I didn’t know what happened to you.” And he handed me enough cash to buy a round-trip ticket to Los Angeles, which I did, and immediately left. When I got to Los Angeles, it occurred to me to call an old friend who said, “Oh, I’m so happy you called, Lester, we just got a new apartment, we have an extra room and you must stay with us. Where are you?” And they picked me up. The next morning I was in the kitchen thinking, “Well, gee, here I am in Los Angeles without a car. It’s impossible to get around without one.” And I said, “Well, that’s taken care of,” and I dropped it. Next thought came, “Call Burl.” He was an old friend I had driven with from New York to Los Angeles some years earlier. I called Burl, and he said, “I’ve been thinking of you, Lester. Where are you? I want to see you and I’m coming right over.” And he was there in a matter of about fifteen minutes. And we’re having coffee over the kitchen table and without my asking, he puts his hand in his pocket, takes his car keys out, slides them across the table to me and says “You’ve got my car as long as you stay here. I have no need for it. I’m living near the studio and I walk to work.” I thanked him. Now I had everything I needed. After about ten days, I got the feeling that I wanted to go back to New York. It was about January 3rd. I called TWA and they said, “Oh, I’m sorry. We have no reservations for thirty days, all taken up. And we can’t even put you on the waiting list because the waiting lists each have thirty or more people.” I just said “Thank you”, hung up and said to myself “Well, who needs a reservation? When I feel like going, I’ll go!” So, the next morning, I woke up and asked myself “Do I want to go?” And I said, ‘Yeah, I think I want to go.” I packed my bags and got down to the airport about ten o’clock, asked where the planes depart for New York, went to the gate, and a man was loading a plane for New York. I said, “Are there any no-shows?” He said, “Yes, there is one. But wait until I load everyone. Just stand here.” While he was loading, a woman asked the same question. He said, “I don’t know, madam, but if you’ll stand behind this man, we’ll find out.” And he put her behind me. He loaded the plane, walked right toward me, reached around me, took this woman by the arm and put her on the plane. As far as I was concerned, everything was 100% okay! He came back to me and his jaw dropped! His mouth fell open when he realized what he had done. So I had to calm him down, instead of him calming me down. And after I calmed him down, I said, “Well, when’s your next plane?” He said, “In about an hour. Oh, there it is coming in right now.” Well, he put me on that plane, which got me to New York two hours earlier than the other one. It was a non-stop flight, the first one I ever had cross-country. At that time, they usually made at least one stop. Non-stop flights were new and few. This was in the days of the DC-6s and the Constellations; there were no jets at that time. It wasn’t easy for them to make cross-country non-stop flights. Then I remembered that when I’d hung up and said, “Who needs a reservation?” I’d said, “Not only that, I’ll have my first non-stop flight cross-country.” And that was the reason for his putting me off the first flight and putting me on the next one. And so I got back to New York–started out with no money, and came back with no money. Later, a trip around the world again proved the same principle of abundance: “I have everything I need as I need it.”

Lester abides in truth, shares his discovery.

After Lester’s tremendous breakthrough into peace in 1952, that awareness of the truth never left him. Whether he was making a real estate deal, or visiting his family, or sharing his experience with others, he was always aware of and residing in his own inner Beingness of peace. People loved being with him because he saw them in the same way that he saw himself: all-beautiful, all-knowing, all-powerful, all-perfect, allpeaceful. This powerful perception projected itself to each receptive person and activated that inner core in which each was all those things. Many people had experiences of this truth of themselves while in his presence, and they were eager to have more and to hear of his experiences. He was always happy to share with others and began giving talks about what he had done. At first there was no special effort or promotion in that direction, but through word of mouth people would hear of him and show up wherever he happened to be. Often, these impromptu gatherings would take place over coffee at a cafeteria on West 57th Street in New York. Also there were occasions when he drove coast-to-coast and on stopovers along the way, he would start talking to someone, he or she would get excited and call friends who would call their friends. Before long there would be a hundred or more people interested in hearing him speak. At those times, Lester would stay several days, the group would rent a large hotel meeting room and by the time of his talk, there were often a thousand or more people in attendance. He never charged any fee for his work, nor would he accept any money when people offered it. He knew he had everything he needed as he needed it, he’d proven that more than once, and his real estate ventures continued to be profitable. He had no need for anything. In 1958, it occurred to him to move to California. He gave up his New York apartment, bought himself a new Chrysler and a 31-foot mobile home, and headed west. His original destination was San Diego but, while driving through Arizona, he saw a signpost for Sedona and his inner voice said, “Go there.” “Why?” he asked himself. “Just go,” his inner voice answered, “and you’ll see.” When he drove into the quiet Old-West town set in the midst of towering red rocks, he understood why he had been drawn to Sedona. The beauty and the feeling of peace were so strong, he felt as though he were coming home. He contacted a realtor and was shown an isolated 160-acre ranch. He bought the property for cash, no mortgage, and moved into an old stone house which the original rancher had built on the property. It was very peaceful, totally isolated and surrounded on all sides by forestry land. The nearest neighbor was a mile away, except for a woman who owned and occupied a small cottage just inside the ranch entrance gate. They would occasionally meet when both were out walking, and one day she mentioned how lonely she got living alone so far from town. As they talked, it occurred to Lester that she might like to trade her cottage and property for a similar house and property in town. When he proposed it to her she was delighted and accepted his offer to find a suitable lot and build a house on it to her specifications. He did all the work himself. He dug and poured the foundation, erected the walls, put on the roof; he did everything. It was final proof to him that his health was totally restored and that he had regained the strength, energy, and stamina of a very young man. When the house was finished, they traded. He called his new acquisition the cottage. Now his ranch was totally isolated, and he stayed there alone for the next few years. Once or twice a month he would make the trip into town for food and supplies, but the rest of the time he was alone on the ranch. It was a very different way of life than anything he had ever experienced before, and he loved it. His work with people, however, never completely stopped. He would occasionally drive the 110 miles to Phoenix to stay for several days or a week at a time. He also invested in some apartment houses in Phoenix during the 1960′s. After a few years, he began to make periodic trips several times a year to California where he had a regular group he worked with. And every year or so he would go to New York. People sought him out at the ranch, too, which he had named “Self Haven.” In 1961, the first person, a man named Doug Dean, came to stay for a while at the cottage. Shortly after Doug left, three women came. As the years went by, others came and went, and until 1975 there were always some people living at the cottage. A few women stayed for several years, but most people came for a few months or so to get themselves quiet and re-energized. Then they would leave to resume their lives in the world. It was a very peaceful way of life and Lester was content. The comings and goings of himself and others were incidental and were never able to touch or disturb the vast quiet of the inner state he had discovered in himself in 1952. He could have gone on that way for the rest of his life were it not for his wish that everyone discover that state for themselves. He felt his oneness with all and, as he described it: “I wanted the rest of me to discover what I had discovered. So, after a while, I began thinking on how to get this knowledge out to more people.”
